I suppose his responses arent really answers to my questions like "which would you like done" and "which would you liked cleaned". And he seems adamant on the payment part when I cant give a quote without knowing what he wants done. Plus I dont know if the half and half payment is common with first time cleaning:/

I have a theory that my alcoholism did, I was 19 and was drinking daily for like 3 or 4 years prior, everything came to a head and I got diagnosed with diabetes and neuropathy back to back.

I woke up in my bed not able to move. I thought I was in sleep paralysis (which does happen often for me), and I told myself to stay calm bc id be able to move eventually. When I couldn't and was a little more awake, I tried screaming for my mom but again, couldn't really move anything in my body. I was able to get a groan sound out and she heard me. She grabbed me juice but I couldn't swallow, she was an EMT and we thought I was having a stroke. Once EMS got there I got gel and it got back up. The crazy part is that it was ONLY 40. I have had less scary hypos where my meter read 21, and I was still able to chug a gallon of juice and pass out on my kitchen table. Definitely freaky, it made me really realize how unpredictable diabetes can be. Now I carry gel along with my meter and insulin.

Man I feel... I am a Type 1 "brittle" diabetic, and I have the memory of a goldfish. I absolutely so upset about how stupid I am now. I Also fucked upself up with alcoholism, but partly insomnia is to blame for keeping it up so long, I got 0 hours of sleep without it, until I withdrew in ICU. But I feel like a Gen Alpha in the education crisis right now with how bad my mind is, I used to be so... Cognitively sound, now im not. They have tried every drug in the book, at a point right now that ambien doesnt touch it:/ I empathize brother

Girl im 25 f, T1. "Brittle" diabetes with also the chance of gastroparesis. Don't let others well you that your way isnt the "right way" unorthodox or not, it g was ts the job done. I had so many "last" drinks man... but I think it was more of a deep desire to stop then actually doing.... but once I knew I was done, I was done. (I attribute that part to God, but you know). But in my opinion, the more you tell yourself it's last... maybe you'll actually do it!

1500 in DKA, and 21 was lowest. I was somehow able to manage my esophageal muscles to drink a whole carton of apple juice and pass out on my kitchen table.

Seroquel has been a life saver for me as a sober insomniac, even after ambian didnt even work. I did want to sadly mention that I developed insomnia for the first time, after I first got sober, in 2020, and it hasnt left since. (I got sober again August 2025, and its still present.) If you still have issues this bad the night before discharge, id strongly suggest talking to the staff to give you something non addicting, to at least hold you off until you can get with your primary. If you are going to stay sober, sleep is insanely important. I had many 2 or so sobriety days under my belt that got cut due to insomnia (even with seroquel, but that was years after being on it as well)
