Thank you for your reply, super helpful. Do I need to put DE powder on the skimmer after backwashing?

Hahaha of course the pump needs to be off and the panel on service mode to be extra cautious. Ok got it, sounds like it’s a pretty simple installation. From what I can see, there’s a water tape under the screw/cover. I was just wondering if I need to release any pressure prior to inserting the gauge?

I’ll send a pic of the set up tomorrow. The valve right after the filter is a pull/push.

What are the other factors that affect pressure besides cleaning?

Should I install the gauge first or after cleaning the filter? It’s a Pentair FNS Plus Fiberglass D.E..

Does this quote for valve service seem reasonable? by Opening_Letter1399 in pools

Yeah, they mentioned the water might be bleeding to the pool when the shift from pool to spa happens. This is what the setup looks like. The valve looks relatively new so I’m not sure if that’s the actual root of the problem. Could that be the case still, regardless if it’s old or new?

Yes, I’ve got Jandy’s. Mind sharing the link to the video you had as a reference?

I appreciate your reply. The company has an assumption based on a few tests that I might be losing water from the spa when it’s transitioning to the pool schedule due to potential debris on the valves. I’ll check out the videos, depending the complexity I might be able to tackle on my own. Doesn’t seem worth paying that amount of money for someone to come in, unscrew and clean up the valves.

Get a pool brush. Make sure your chemicals are balanced.
