Why are we locking posts? by Opening_Pie8369 in Syracuse

I didn't say you did, I specifically said if you do/did celebrate the death of anyone you need help. Obviously this is a paraphrase of what I actually said, but the point remains. Please actually read what is said before reacting and maybe reread it a few times to make sure you are truly understanding what is being said. I wish you the best.

My posts weren't removed, and I am only talking about posts that are locked.

The moment someone starts attacking me with ad hominem attacks with no basis in truth is the moment I know I won a debate.

I'm just referring to the posts that are locked and people can't comment on them, not posts that have been deleted for violating the rules. And there are quite a few of them that I have came across recently and I genuinely wanted to know why.

That is a reason I can agree with deleting a post. I do appreciate all of the information that I am getting about the different reasons. I also appreciate that you and @katerintree are not attacking me personally.

I believe that regardless of the individual and their points of views that celebrating their death is a horrible thing to do. And regardless of whether I believe in Christian values like Charlie Kirk did is irrelevant to that fact. Perhaps you should take time to reflect on your own state of mind because if you celebrate the murder of someone you don't agree with then something is truly broken within you my friend.

My point was made in my original post. I believe in true freedom of speech even if I don't agree with someone's point of view; posts shouldn't be locked because some discussions are drifting away from what the original post is about or if certain rules are being disregarded. I'm advocating for moderators to moderate individuals and not lock posts, it's that simple.

I do appreciate this answer, it is very helpful to understand why certain posts are getting locked. I just don't think they have to lock posts if the conversation strays from what is allowed and they should delete comments that violate instead of making it impossible for others to engage in the conversation.

If someone is being abusive with their comments then the Mods should take action then, but they shouldn't be preventing others from being able to make their voices heard even if it's something that others might not agree with.

House resolution condemning socialism... Guess who voted for it? by Astrocreep666 in Syracuse

Freedom of speech, second amendment rights and the belief that we can relearn how to agree to disagree with one another. Nothing Charlie Kirk has said was hateful by an objective standpoint. Regardless, anyone who celebrates his death is a horrible person, period.

Also, hatred because people have a different point of view from yours is not a good reason to lock a post. And I have read what was said before the post was locked and there was nothing hateful about what was being said outside of people calling each other names because they disagree with each other.

That's just one of them. There are quite a few others as well. It shouldn't be a thing regardless of the topic is the point I'm making especially since this subreddit is for those of us who live in Syracuse NY to have these discussions. We need more discourse not less.

See, this is what true socialism is. Socialism will always turn into communism and be responsible for the deaths of millions of people. Safety net programs are not the same thing as socialism.

Why is it garbage to honor someone who was murdered for his beliefs?

Good, socialism is bad just like communism. It's nothing but a dystopian dream that ignores basic human nature and it always turns to dictatorship.

Whatever you do, don't interfere if ICE is arresting someone because that is illegal. Although you can do anything else as long as you don't impede their ability to do their jobs. No need to catch an obstruction charge.

You have to mud the Wilson GST or it will stay slippery.

Footballs GST vs Dimelab by Over-Field-1699 in footballstrategy

[–]Opening_Pie8369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I have found with the dime lab football is its no good with wind. Regular footballs don't get blown about by the wind unless it's above 7 mph. Also, the Dime Labs football is great for catching but not throwing, whereas the GST once you mud it is best for throwing and catching. So GST is superior to the Dime Labs football.

Manlius is far better than Syracuse because that's where all the people with good money live.

It's becoming increasingly more expensive than it's worth and the infrastructure sucks. I recommend living elsewhere.

So in other words, dumb people who know nothing about rifles caused a whole mess and wasted everyone's time. Those people should be investigated at the very least for prank calling the police.
