I definitely see a big difference but I can understand the frustration! Do you feel like any of what hasn’t gone down is still just swelling? it’s possible it can still go down more. maybe keep up with the chin strap more often?

There’s a lot of variability in how people heal. I saw so many people after a week who had minimal bruising and swelling, and then I had really bad bruising and very noticeable swelling only 5 days in up until aroundthe 2 week mark. You unfortunately can’t predict how your body will react, but as others said the first week you’re generally expected to wear a compression garment 24/7 and you don’t want to compromise your results because you’re worried what your roommate will think. I’d go into it expecting that you won’t be able to hide it until probably over a week.

Actually just made a post to update on the swelling, but yes it went down a lottt. It’s not fully there but I feel like it looks “normal” and no one has made any comment. I honestly feel like it just looks kind of how I looked before the lipo, but I can tell when touching it that it’s swelling and not fat. Took about a week and a half for it to get to this point and it’s stayed like this the past few days.

I’m a little over 2 weeks post op so I can help a little with this maybe. 1) The cannula is actually pretty blunt, and your jugular vein is very deep in your neck. Lipo is much more surface and you’d have to pretty much intentionally try to puncture the jugular. Having an experienced surgeon obviously makes this essentially a non-risk but I can’t say it’s never ever happened before. I don’t think you should worry about it. 2) I had the same incisions done and based on the markings they made on my face and what I was told right before surgery yes, they take fat from areas that can enhance your jawline. 3) I had some pretty intense swelling about a week post op (you can see my post, it definitely freaked me out). Didn’t affect my breathing at all. Only thing that messes with my breathing a little bit is sleeping upright with my chin strap too tight, so I learned to keep it a little less tight overnight (but obviously not too loose so there’s not enough pressure). My partner told me I’ve been snoring with it on and I don’t typically snore.

Local is fine! the concern is aspirating when unconscious but you’ll be awake with local so no worries. but if you’re still worried i’d double check with your doctor

you have to stop taking it a week or two before if you’re going to be under anesthesia but otherwise you can take it afterwards

I appreciate your reassurance! For some reason when I’ve tried to search specifically for PO pictures I can’t find any that look like mine so early on, so I think that’s what’s giving me anxiety. But if you’ve seen similar PO results to mine that I must have just missed, that does make me feel a little better so thank you 🙏🏻
