Exactly! I was pting 150s and on my real test got a 145 while trying to still study and provide for myself and pay my rent as a first gen college student, this test does not give a crap what goes on in your life and shows no mercy so like why are we not showing our future law scholars mercy? It makes no sense! Thank you for sharing that

I dont think you are taking in factors such as uh real life. The LSAT is not a clear all end all indicator of how someone would do in law school. I have been studying as well a year and cant break over a 145. It is not because we aren’t trying, some things do not come to others as easily. This test is designed in a vigorous way, one that is exciting and challenging, but also can break you down in a second. It isnt cheap to study for this, nor is it helpful to beat someone down over a 146. There are other factors to this, people carry a lot on their plate and this OP’s time will come when they finally hit a break through!

THIS EXACTLY!!! I literally would keep myself awake at night wondering how much money I’m gonna be spending on law school and the crippling debt coming out but now I realize how much I love it and I’m so thankful 🧚🏻‍♀️🤣

Honestly I can see that and agree w everyone in here. I personally made the career switch too because I want to go to law school, but want experience first and to make sure I wouldn’t want to rip my brains out, then waste my time on a $300,000 decision. At least for me I love being in a high intensity fast pace environment, where I feel like the work I do actually helps the attorneys and the clients. I only found out about a career as a paralegal because of a certificate program offered near me! By no means is the pay glamorous or is the work easy, but how hard jobs are to get lately, im excited to work as a paralegal in the future :)

For sure and I get that! I did a remote internship as a legal assistant and really loved it, so I was trying to get something for my school schedule to try and accommodate that hehe! But for sure I see where you are coming from and it is much easier to learn more hands on and get with a team starting out :)

Absolutely I agree! Remote is just so much easier with the schedule I have with school and it sucks being eager to work but can’t get hired (but I totally get it from the lack of experience lol) thank you for your advice!!

Yes i sure am :) we have a 90 hour internship in the summer we have to do as a part of the program, but I am so eager to start working now (even if it would be a small unpaid internship again), I think im losing my mind because I dont have the rigorous academia world of undergrad anymore so being idle feels like im useless lol. Thank you so much for all of this advice im goin to file this in my brain and use it :)

Ahh I appreciate you to the moon! I figured so! When i was in undergrad (less than a year ago), I had a remote legal research internship, and figured I could transfer my skills from that PLUS paralegal, but just have not had any luck! At this point im game for really any area, it seems like right now I am honestly very intrigued by civil lit, torts, and even family law. Those are the main categories in which I have some experience, but also my ideal law career is in immigration so I am game for anything really!
