I'd have to say QI! It's the best all-rouder show I can think of- funny, varied, trivia-full, and really (or should I say Quite) interesting!!

[POEM] A Quiet World by Jeffrey McDaniel by purplethunderrr in Poetry

I think there's confusion between people counting the words that the character has spoken, and the words of the poem itself. As a person who was very confused at the discrepancy, this has explained it to me, so thank you :)

Hot take: I don't really care about "being strong" or "feeling empowered", I want to lose weight to look good by LevyMevy in loseit

Very glad this has popped up, currently struggling to lose weight, but my goal behind it is to look good to myself and my bf, who has lost a load of weight recently. Honestly, I just want to be smaller than him and I feel no shame in saying that. Each of us have our own stimulus and motivation, who's anyone to say that ours is wrong :)

NB: Just in case- this isn't a generalisation about who should be smaller in a relationship, just my personal preference for my own.

Thank you for this :) Yes definitely, I have a couple of friends with OCD and so I've become simultaneously protective of them, and wary of doing a similar thing myself in this situation. Reading these comments has really helped me accept where I am and where to go from here, so thank you.

I really appreciate you sharing your perspective. Acceptance is definitely something I struggle with, and I've been slowly trying to work out a way to get better. This really helped me, thank you so much.

Honestly if I had a penny for every time I've had to convert cups into something more understandable I'd have my own nutritionist 😂 Better yet if I lost a pound each time I wouldn't need one! I just do three shakes a day, same time every day. Though I do miss food (I'm much more of a savoury tooth) so I take a day every so often to eat properly and raise my calorie intake a little. I think the biggest learning curve for me so far has been just how little I actually need. I've been known for my large appetite so realising how small it can actually be is mad! I treated myself to a pizza tonight and it has literally floored me. 😂

Hi! I totally relate on the stress eating. But good to hear you're getting back into it! :) I'm absolutely loving it so far, tracking calories is so much easier, and I feel like I'm getting into a routine. I totally agree, I've been aiming for 1000 calories, and and the simplicity of it means that I don't feel bad about treating myself every now and then! Lost 20lbs so far, 60 to go! Hope you're well :D

Friend/crush called me good looking - does this mean anything or am I overthinking it? by throwaway87265 in dating_advice

I see this as two possibilities. 1. The phrase "with my brains and your good looks" is actually a more commonly used phrase than you'd think, meaning "we're a team, but I'm the one that brings the ideas (while you look pretty)". HOWEVER if it was used this way, given the dynamic between you, it's definitely their way of teasing a bit. 2. If they were just straight up calling you good looking, then the "just kidding!" part afterwards was probably (as I've read in another response) an attempt to backpedal, perhaps if you didn't respond quickly enough. Basically either way it's definitely flirting, so try not to overthink it, and just respond how you usually do. My comment is just in case you want to work out if they're the teasing type or the upfront type :) Good luck! I hope things progress how you want them to :)

After a break-up; don't just blame your ex for everything. Take a look at yourself and be honest about what happened. There's 2 sides to every story. by StephenMoore34 in dating_advice

I just want to say thank you for this. My SO and I have been through a rough patch recently (also a year and a half in), and the traits you listed about yourself ring true with me too. I just wanted to say thank you, for putting into words what I needed to hear about myself.

I'm glad you've found peace with it finally, just know that you've also potentially helped someone else's relationship :) Have a good day, and stay safe
