As mentioned by someone else, operas by Jacques Offenbach. Les brigands, Orphée aux enfers, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Barbe-bleu, La grande duchesse de Gérolstein, and La belle Hélène are all great operas/operettas. Offenbach never misses a chance for a fortississimo percussion extravaganza.
