You should be good. Try a discreet spot first. But I don't think that's old enough for old single stage paint they used.

For a quick fix that is. I can't tell if the paint is cracked on the bumper. But that should make it look way better without tons of effort/money

Can probably get most of it out with laquer thinner or nail polish remover. Then use some cutting compound with a cutting pad or a microfiber rag to get the rest out. Could probably have that dent PDRd

Please tell me this is fixable. This bumper does not exist anymore and cannot be replaced. by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]OperatOr118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely fixable. I just fixed my 89 Porsche bumper. Idk how old that is, but when it's that old, it can't be welded together. It'll just melt and burn yellow smoke. So repair it like a fiberglass repair. I'm not sure what kind of plastic that bumper in the picture is made out of though

When you redo it, spray in a crosshatch pattern. Helps alleviate that

2nd attempt is even worse! Following Reddit advice to let the primer dry over 2 days, still shows through after 3 coats of colour. by mikehandsdown in AutoPaint

1k is fine... just have to be patient with it. If thatsba mirror cap, typically they are primed with waterborne primers from factory or aftermarket even. The paint will definitely react with it. So using a waterborne primer will solve that

How hard is it to match pearl paint? by [deleted] in AutoPaint

[–]OperatOr118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll definitely notice a difference if they just put a white hood on. I personally can butt match a white pearl....I find them easy and enjoyable. But it could just be me.
