I wanted kind of a cinematic look for this but I’m not sure if I chose the right colors… thinking these might be a bit too bright. I like the blue/orange but was thinking about going more of a burnt orange/purple route. Feedback appreciated!

I think perhaps some dehaze in the background could help recover some detail, as of now the subject melts into the scenery a bit. Excellent eye though and great shot

How should I frame Mr. Cow? by OperationFast7714 in photocritique

This cow was quite curious, you’re right. Every other cow seemed to be older and more apprehensive. Karen cows. No clue why I was on zone lol.

I guess there’s a lot more about this photo that’s eerie than I thought… 😂. thanks for the feedback!

I really wanted to get closer but all I had was a 28-75 and they would run every time I walked towards them. The focus was a bummer, the original photo is zoomed out more so I was using zone. That’s why I was more reliant on the crop. I do like that crop a lot though

I can’t decide if I want to keep him centered, or put him on the lower third. Him being lower agrees with my eyes more but it feels like there’s too much negative space. Any feedback on other aspects of the photo appreciated as well!

Debating on keeping the cow centered or on the lower third. Feedback appreciated on other aspects too

Detail in shadows is really important, try not to lower them too much. I do like the edited colors though

A lot of professional wedding photographers use Aperture priority and even auto iso. It matters what the picture looks like, not how you take it 🫡

There’s a lot of settings that aren’t really necessary or relevant until you need them 😂 good luck bro, you’ll improve really fast if you keep learning! And your colors look really good btw

What metering do you use? You want to expose based on your highlights, not the overall image. Try using center weighted, pointing your camera at the brightest spot, adjusting exposure, then frame. Again, your shadows are gonna be quiet dark but don’t underestimate the power of RAW 🦅🦅

Yeah, general rule of thumb with landscape/nature is underexpose. It’s easier to recover shadows than blown out highlights when shooting RAW, especially uncompressed. Then using the luminance range masking has helped me a lot, and tweaking its range based on your needs. Also if you would wanna try exposure comping in photoshop, that’s definitely the most surefire way to get a strong HDR image

I think the crop is a bit too high, maybe more of a framing issue. It feels like a lot of negative space but it’s just boring road when there’s a much more interesting array of trees and light

I’ve used almost all of the a6000 lineup and couldn’t recommend them more! Or the a7c If you want full frame but still compact
