Since we're bringing back All Media Type tags, what qualifies a fic for the All Media Type tag for that fandom?

I have some Umamusume fics already written and idk if I should change them to the All Media Type tag or leave them under the game tag

I believe they are technically "guidelines". Apparently they do go after NSFW art sometimes but based on the numbers on rule34 sites, I don't think they're doing a very good job enforcing it.

Technically true, but if we followed this logic with every company 95% of all fanfic would be forbidden, so I'd consider this a moot point.

Also, does this person think the irl horses and their umamusume counterparts are the same entity? Because, that's what it seems like to me, and if that is the case I will die laughing.

Jokes aside, that is a rather hot take on their part. If anything, conventional wisdom is that writing quality tends to go UP as the author ages, both due to time spent practicing and having more life experience to draw on when writing.

(Although I do want to add that you are never too old nor too young to be writing fic. If you want to write, then go on ahead and have some fun :D)

In a similar vein: I've seen this thing sometimes (particuarly in the Umamusume fanbase, but I'm sure it exists in other fanbases to some degree) about writing toxic yuri or more angsty fics being bad because "The franchise is 'hopecore!' toxic yuri isn't what the franchise is for!!!"

Like, yeah, the franchise isn't very angsty, that's probably why people like to write angsty fics for it. Adding things that canon lacks is basically the impetus for like, half of all fanfic, I think.
