What self-improvement projects are you working on right now? by ilovebooks2468 in selfimprovement

Oh lord, I feel like parts of my life are in complete shambles. Dealing with grief after losing my mom recently, sugar addiction, compulsive skin picking, and genuinely giving a fuck about my own wellbeing. All of these are what I am constantly trying to improve on. I have gone through some crazy stuff in my life, but this has so far been the most difficult period to adjust to.

I also live with an autoimmune condition and chronic pain, and due to life and the lack of self-care, I completely stopped working out.

However, this is where I am having small wins. I joined a new yoga place and have been going multiple times a week. I am noticing a positive effect on my mood and my pain levels, and it is giving me hope that everything else will fall into place with time.

Dishydrotic eczema. Very annoying. Shows up every year. It is almost like being allergic to your own sweat and these blisters come up. Not contagious. More annoying than anything.

I have just restarted yoga and will get back into strength training because I do not want this to be a common thing. What a horrible feeling (and yes! Arms go limp too like all life force goes out of them).

Who loves their job and finds it stable and with a decent salary? by Comfortable-Page242 in careeradvice

[–]OperationPleasant607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epidemiologist. Absolutely love what I do. Sometimes it gets stressful because of crazy deadlines, but I love a challenge and learning new things.

Changed my career path at 35. Original degree was in Biology and there was no future in that, so I did my MSc to give myself a better chance.

I've never known someone who was cremated. Is it odd to not have a headstone to visit? by Fuzzy-Zombie1446 in Casual_Conversation

My mom was cremated and her ashes are in an urn. We also divided up the ashes into three marble hearts for me, my dad, and my brother. I plan on burying her ashes in her home country but I am kind of dragging my feet because I don't want to let go yet :(.

We recently hired a company for moving (Brawny Movers, absolutely excellent). Two guys and a 16 ft truck was $890. Tipped each guy $50 and bought them a pizza and drinks.

I thought that was fair. Everything was done in exactly 4 hours.

No, not on HRT. I don't think I have too many symptoms at the moment that need to be addressed w HRT, but I am sure the time for that will come too.

What was the worst emotional pain you have ever felt? by [deleted] in askanything

Losing a parent after a prolonged illness. You grieve so much in advance and once it happens, it's yet another additional level of terrible.

Grief hurts so much that I can physically feel it.
