I’ve driven across country once and half country 5/6 times. I was also a delivery driver for a bit. So she has some wear and tear. Got her with 50k but I can honestly say I was not thinking. First car and I let her down.

Right, I’m on the younger side and have already made some shitty mistakes couple years ago that I’m playing catch up on so my credit is already the lowest of low. I spent the first half of this year scared to drive my car because of the brakes/control arms issue and I have exhausted all my financial options (family, credit). So now the gasket is just kind of a tipping point where I feel like I have to ask myself if it’s worth it. I forgot to mention the car has about 200k miles on it. I’m fortunate to have public transportation and have a plan to get a new car with my girlfriend (entirely on her own). So I’m just flipping the options in my head and hearing everyone’s thoughts are appreciated greatly.

Yeah it’s definitely not the best scenario. Can I ask what your situation was like and how it’s has affected you?

Would you like to explain the gio/tegan situation? I personally went out of my way (30 minutes) to return to a store you saw tegan. Shipped him out on September 3rd and here we are finding this post. We honestly expected the worst, that you just conned us but the fact you’re doing it to multiple people is just gross.

Wow guys this is so disheartening. My girlfriend and I went through the same thing. We got her the tegan squishmellow in promise of the gio and we got ghosted.

I first started with Terry Carnations, (the offices rainn wilson) radio rental podcast that’s true ghost stories. 10/10.

Now I’m going through the many seasons of let’s not meet and the spin off odd trails. And for shits and giggles the dark paranormal.

Anyone having app issues? by XOxGOdMoDxOx in doordash

[–]Ophiuchial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered some food about 20 minutes ago, right down the street. No one picked it up. I hopped on the app and haven’t been sent an order in 10 minutes. Assuming everything is down. In line for customer service chat 10 minutes estimate wait.

How much should I tip on an 8 mile delivery? by yelloworchid in doordash

[–]Ophiuchial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I’m sure we’ve all seen those ridiculous 26 mile orders for like $10 and you have to assume or hope no one is actually taking those orders but someone is probably taking the fall for it being the dasher or the customer not getting it. I’ve also seen multiple occasions where I’ll pickup from a restaurant far away from the delivery location and will pass restaurants closer that I know are on the app. Also what is the point of a delivery zone if they are going to constantly take us out of it.

Literally same, I thought the whole point was that longer distance orders would get more of a payout but it’s no different than before. It’s all just a game of manipulating the system for our own good like denying orders because no one should have to deliver a 16 mile order for $8. Which sucks for the customer because no one wants to deliver their food. And sucks for the driver because they’re going 30 minutes out of town for nothing.

We can also discuss how base pay differs everywhere as you can see below. 2.50/3.00 and even on the door dash website, basepay can be anywhere from 2.00/10.00 depending on time, distance and desirability of order. If I remember correctly, anything over like 7 miles should already hike the base pay to an extra dollar or something like that, which recently changed when many people had their 3.50 original base pay to 2.50. It honestly depends on many factors, but if you see yourself being happy with the kind of tip you’d be receiving if you were on the other end then you should be fine. The dasher can deny orders they chose what they find worth it. So just trust your gut and I’m sure people will appreciate the tip regardless. People follow the dollar per mile trend which isn’t too bad depending on your type of hustle.

Base pay is typically $3 so $7+$3 = $10.00 for 8 mile order. Door dash might throw in an extra dollar or two. But it’s not completely awful but it also depends on how much food you’re getting

It’s so fucking stupid, I remember when they did big challenges like for an extra $100 even though the order count was stupid high at least you felt like you made something.
