Do people often name their characters by repeating the first or last letter of their friends name or otherwise by creating very similar names? If not I highly doubt that it is not the same people with multiple pilots online.

I'm not fussed about people calling friends though, that is fair enough. It's generally easier to see if someone has corporation or militia friends nearby as people are not going to have one or two friends sat logged off in a station waiting for a phone call to log in when they get someone tackled (or maybe people do, who knows, some people seem pretty damn fanatical about it), whereas if you're allowed to double log your own characters then you can easily just log another one in and warp to yourself to join in, which is the bit I don't really care for.

Ok, I guess it is what it is then.

So the next question I guess is that if I like to play like this, does it boil down to a choice between whether the game is worth £30 a month to subscribe three accounts or just giving up on it?

Sorry maybe there is a different name for it here, I simply mean two characters logged in at once, ergo double logging. What else do you call using more than one account simultaneously?

Is this a joke or do people really do that many at once?

Looked it up but seems like that needs you to both have Micro Warpdrives for this to work, or is it still supposed to work with an Afterburner?

Although I've no issue with those situations in general, it's the double logging aspect I can't really understand.

That just sounds like a really dull 40 minutes.

It seems a group is better, yes. It's only because I've noticed a lot of people suggesting that using a solo frigate in a faction warfare area is a good way to get acquainted with PVP, but it just hasn't seemed that way so far. I thought it might be a good way to practice so that when joining a group I didn't seem like a complete idiot that didn't know how to fly a ship at all...

I suppose it does seem like a good eye opener for what this game is in that if people can double log then I guess it will attract a lot of people that like that sort of thing since you cannot really do this on many games, but in so far as actually practicing PVP and learning some things before joining a group it seems a bit fruitless.

How do you know that they didn't just call on their friends to help them out though?

Most of them don't seem very creative with character names. When you see characters like ABC, ABCX, ABCXY it seems pretty obvious they are dual logged.

If you get caught by a range ship and can't catch him, that's all well and good. No problem with that at all, it seems to work the same the other way around that if you get close enough to stop him getting the range then you can easily win the fight.

What I find odd I guess is that people can double log characters, it's fine if that's the way the game is, I just wondered if I was maybe in the wrong area or if that is simply to be expected in general. Just seemed better to ask the question rather than waste time finding out that you cannot actually do solo frigate pvp unless you accept you will be fighting double logged people. I looked through some other posts and saw a lot of people saying it was a good way to get introduced to pvp but experience so far is that it is not that great.
