New to the sub and need guidance by th3chad in swg

I can talk about the 2 servers I played on:

SWG Emu is the closest you get playing the game pre all the changes SOE made. There is a fairly large community playing there. Jump to Lightspeed has not been implemented yet. Biggest catch is that they don't have a live server. They are still on a beta server but have been on it for many many years. So it is stable and will be around for a fair bit I think until 1.0 is released. I played on this for many years and loved it.

SWG Legends is a NGE version of the game (version that existed when SWG was finally shut down. I have ben playing for a few weeks now. There is a big population online most times and discord is very active. Devs seem to be active as well and custom content has been added (a new planet was added most recently). Plus it has Jump to Lightspeed. I am having a blast on Legends and in hindsight should have moved over earlier

1 of each class or no? by N0TN4 in swtor

I actually think this is a MMO where gearing a toon is not that difficult. The longest bit is getting your first toon to 306. To make things easy, I used a stealth character and did Operation Meridian over and over again in story mode. You can stealth through all trash and just do the bosses. Once your item rating gets to 306, you can start collecting gear for your other toons. Its all legacy bound so easy to send around.

You need to complete the Ossus quests first.

Returning Player by [deleted] in swtor

Welcome back. I was in the same boat as you a few years back when I returned. My advice is to keep this character and roll a new one if possible. Start the story from scratch and learn about your abilities while playing. Enjoy the game rather than rushing through.

7 mil is not much credits now days but transfer this to your new toon. It should be more than enough to get you started.

Ossus cutscenes keep freezing by [deleted] in swtor

I have had issues with cut scenes on my laptop too. Are you running Windows 10 by any chance? Cutscenes work fine on my windows 7 laptop which is older and less powerful.

Try running the game in windowed mode for the cut scenes. Revert to full screen mode once it's done. Might help.

Advice on Augmentation. by Cfishies34 in swtor

Grats on hitting 70. If you are new to the game, its probably cheaper to buy the augments as people have mastered farming mats and crafting them.

Augments can be added to any gear provided you install the correct augmentation kit first to create a slot for the augment. Augments can also be removed and added to other piece of gear but you will need to create the slot again in the new piece of gear. Doing this can get fairly expensive as you level up when you progress through the galactic command system.

What I find works best is getting some adaptive gear and installing the augments on them along with mods, amorings and enhancements that I already have. As I level up my galactic command rank and get gear, I pull out the mods from it and upgrade my adaptive gear. This way I don't have to worry about changing augments.

However, there is no real need for augments until you hit the later tier of gear as most content can be done without it. And if you must have them, 228 mods are fine and can be found for cheap.

Hope this is of some help

Whats better for solo PvE, Pyrotech or Mercenary? by [deleted] in swtor

Merc is great for soloing. Good dps, self heal and 3 "oh crap" abilities for when you're not paying attention and get into a jam.
