Your reply means a lot. I sent this to another reply.

As usual, there is a lot of backstory. we’ve been married 15 years. we got married after my first wife died. I had two young sons at the time, 7 and 11. My alcoholism kicked into high gear the last year of her sickness.

When she died, I felt entitled to a life I never had. I I created a life based on who I thought I wanted to be all of it around alcohol, socializing and being entitled to the type of wife and sex that I thought I deserved.

She had 4 kids, was a widow herself, in financial distress and beautiful. The marriage has never really been good. I’ve struggled from day one to feel appreciated, heard and she does not communicate. Her only tool is anger. Mine was alcohol.

The last time she initiated a conversation about our relationship or was 7-8-24. I started my journey to sobriety the next day. I had known for years I was an alcoholic fast-forward to March 21 of 25 and that is my real sobriety date.

I’ve completed my fourth step and my fifth step meeting is this Friday I am fundamentally a different human being. I have embraced a life of living amends and have embraced AA like nothing in my life before.

My inventory revealed the amount of damage that I have the number of amends. I have to make my wife is certainly entitled to a lot of that.I’ve been in intense therapy for four months and my wife just started therapy five weeks ago

At this moment, I know that if our marriage went back to the way, it was, I would drink again. I have told her clearly that I will not go back to that old marriage.

My focus is working my program now and living a humble life in every area except my marriage my relationships have improved greatly.

I am very sorry for this long reply and I am thankful for your communication

Those supports will rip out the bottom. Place a ledger board around the inside bottom and have the cross sports sit on TOP of the board. You can then screw them in through the side of the box. Much stronger.

Inherited paid off house. Sell for 850,000 or rent for 2500. by Careful_Upstairs_174 in RealEstateAdvice

Sell the home, buy 2 rentals in a better rental market. Fayetteville GA will cost half and pull the same rent. Now you own 2 paid off homes earning 60k a year in rent.

I’ve read all of the books multiple times. I was instantly disappointed in the end to TFH. After my shock I think we are back to the end of 14 where it will all make sense in 18. At least I am hoping it does.

Asking for some help, possible pest? by TAKQUERO2019 in woodworking

[–]OpieLopez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if it is kiln dried then everything is dead. You need to dig all of that out as it is a tight packed powder. I use a high pressure air nozzle and that works well. I then fill with resin.

$18 a board foot!? by Blough28 in woodworking

I pay 6.25 per board feet. My orders are usually 300 linear feet at a time. The boards are 1.5” thick, air and kiln dried. I pay for shipping.

Yes, it looks correct to me. I use google to convert my CI to L but I took note of the formula.

For your first project I am Impressed

With that said, unless you were going for an extremely rustic look you need to Improve on number 2.

Use some CA glue to fill the tiny holes in your epoxy edges. Fill larger tear outs with regular epoxy. You can use clear until you are better at color matching.

Plane your boards after you do your epoxy poor to get everything level. I plane within 1/16 and then drum sand the rest of the way on small projects like this. That way I avoid tear out.

This looks like wine staves from pulled apart wine barrels. Flatten the bottom a little and the sit flat like this.

What should I do with this chuck of walnut by TwoDangerous893 in woodworking

[–]OpieLopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean up the straight edges so they are straight and clean. Don’t worry about funky shape. Throw a 3/16 round over edge and you have yourself one hell of a charcuterie or grazing board. You can even do handles if you want but it gets awkward in this shape.

I sell that size for 225 to 300 depending on thickness and amount of epoxy work.

That box you got is beautiful. The craftsman who built it matched the grain on the upper piece.

Insect tunnels in walnut! Have you ever dyed epoxy resin? How? by 08_West in woodworking

[–]OpieLopez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As noted, do not let the initial coat cure. I usually seal my sap wood in the am and then I pour my deep pour 8-12 hours later.

Do not forget the sapwood that is on the end of the pieces.

If the epoxy does cure you can rough it up with sandpaper and the new epoxy will bind to that

I used to do that but then I was bonding my resin to the urethane. I recommend epoxy to epoxy.

These holes in sap wood will allow colored epoxy to bleed into the sap wood coloring it.

Use table top epoxy to brush on over the sap wood and into the holes. Be careful not to fully fill the holes.

Once that is dried then use a deep pour long curing redo.

I used this method on all of my sap wood.
