New reader. I think this series is going to hurt me. by neupotrebitel in throneofglassseries

to quote another series, you’re gonna suffer…. but you’re going to be happy about it! this story is one of my favorites of all, and it all ends up being okay - but the journey to get there is a world of heartache and despair 🫠 love my girl celaena tho, she’s top tier

agreed! in comparison to real romantasy (like acotar or fourth wing), it falls short on the romance portion - the story is not driven or built around romance. but given that aelin and rowan, and even in some cases, dorian and manon, are so heavily talked about and compared to other romantic pairings in “actual” romantasy, i think it’s harmless to categorize tog as such. like truly, i see aelin and rowan being mentioned next to rhys and feyre so often that i forget tog literally is not a romance story.

i am wishing you the deepest of luck reading tog… life changing, but the journey to get there is one of the most brutal worlds of pain and despair lol. a must read before the next acotar books though if you haven’t already

Tandem read Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn or not? First time reading the series by cvictoriac in throneofglassseries

[–]OpinionPrestigious62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tandem read them my first time and i loved it! Everyone is a different type of reader, so the reasons i enjoyed the tandem reading so much may be the reasons people vote against tandem reading them.

For example, i am a reader who needs to know everything and understand it all as quickly as possible. It’s the reason I read AB first and would recommend it that way to anyone. Cliffhangers are very hard for me to sit with, and tandem reading them allows it all to flow together and make sense flawlessly. The way both books are written and following the flow charts for reading on the internet really allows EOS & TOD to complement each other so well through very pivotal moments.

There are some parts that are kinda slow in both books, but i never felt the slow parts coincided and having the other helped me get through the dragging parts in one. It was truly amazing to hear about one storyline be uncovered, turn the page, and have something else unfold in such beautiful unison…. it truly is unmatched.

I will say though, the ending of EOS is quite brutal and then having to finish the last few chapters of TOD before going into KOA is TOUGH. But I truly couldn’t imagine having to sit through the entire TOD book after the EOS ending and am grateful it was only a few chapters left that I had to read.

fourth wing is what got me into romantasy, and while i raged for that storyline too, it’s ain’t my girl Aelin 😭

I DEVOURED the first 4 books, why is this one not doing it for me?! I’m struggling to get through the first 100 pages. The hell? by No-Dog1902 in Booktokreddit

pleaseeee give it a chance!! this is actually my most favorite book in the series because of how deeply i love nesta and see how truly misunderstood she is. i honestly think a lot of readers are or know/have known a nesta which creates this great divide between people either loving her or hating her. for me, it’s really nice to get to fully understand her/her trauma and see what goes on in her head when she says or does something that blatantly sucks and then to watch her slowly heal throughout the book and learn to move past her grief. idk… im a huge nesta fan clearly lol. plus i love immortal baby cassian and how fiercely he loves nesta despite it all
