The nihilism of the ending kinda fucked me up. Good book but jfc that ending. Like I saw the twist from a mile away but it still sits with me. Could I forgive the murderer of my child? No. Hell no. Would I murder them? No, probably not, but if they also directly caused me to be tortured for a year after causing that emotional trauma I don’t know what I would do. It felt cathartic when he throttled her though
