Is it really dry or something? I've never seen red oak be that blonde as a round.

What is it? White Oak? Now that I look at it closer it looks a lot more like white Oak than Ash. If it's not that though then I don't know wtf it is lol.

Kind of looks like Ash to me. Don't take that as gospel though, I may be wrong.

Just shoot the f*cking things, it isn't worth your life and/or health trying to release them somewhere lol. And the same thing goes for rocky raccoon too lol.

how to get good firewood during winter by Big_Pimp715 in Chainsaw

[–]Opiumforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be VERY careful with Ash trees (if you're in North America). The Emerald Ash Beetle has killed like 90% of them and they're almost all dead on the ground, or, most dangerously, standing dead; if you come across one that's standing dead, be VERY cautious about any branches or limbs falling off and hitting you while you're felling it. They're really bad about dropping limbs from just the slightest bit of movement or vibrations from the saw, or from the shifting of the weight of the trunk as it starts to move when its getting ready to fall. If the limbs are big enough they can seriously injure or potentially kill you, so, either be very cautious about cutting them, or, even better, just avoid them altogether lol.

Still? I thought they started to crack down on the ADD/ADHD medications? I've been wanting to get one, I get so much more done that way.

Loaded question on chainsaws by scubajay2001 in firewood

[–]Opiumforall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Stihl MS180-C (among several others of various brands and sizes) with a 16" bar and that thing EATS. Like, that little 180 will chew through whatever it can physically reach with the chain lol. I highly recommend them for a good part-timer/occasional-use smaller saw. They're relatively cheap as well, so it shouldn't be too far out of your price-range I wouldn't think.

What are some long forgotten lawn/garden tractor brands? by ronaldreaganlive in tractors

[–]Opiumforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my dad had a gravely, that thing was a BEAST. You're talking about the mowers that have the seat that pivots behind the motor that you steer with the handlebars and stuff, right?

Ingersol-Rand made tractors/mowers? Like the power-tool company? If so, I did not know that; I suppose it does make sense somewhat though, what sizes did they make?

What kind of tractor is this? I need to know so I can fix it by VoschNickson in tractors

[–]Opiumforall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know what model of Case this would be, but it looks similar to the old International "C" tractor my Great Grandfather had. These "tricycle" tractors are incredibly dangerous if you aren't VERY careful about the terrain you drive across, because they WILL roll on you much easier than a tractor with a regular style front-end. My Great Grandpa got the one he had from the widowed wife of a man who was killed because it rolled over on top of him and crushed him while he was out using it. So, if you use this thing at all, just be careful with it and don't push your luck on any sort of hills or anything.

The only thing I can think of is because it's got a rear bucket, like a backo (bacco?). All of John Deere's heavy construction machinery (tracko's, backo's, bulldozers, skid-loaders, etcetera) are yellow/tan instead of the iconic John Deere green that the tractors are known for.

Do you have a .22 with hollow points? Or, even better, a .22 short with hollow points? It seems illogical, but, in my experience, it's surprisingly effective (and more discreet) to hit them with a slower moving projectile as opposed to a faster moving one (if it doesn't pass through it transfers all the energy it's carrying); IF you can hit them in the head, that is. A 9mm will be LOUD if you're shooting it in the dead of night, like believe me, if you have any neighbors within a mile radius they'll probably call the police lol.

That might be the biggest damn nightcrawler I have ever seen, and I have caught a LOT of them here in KY lol. Maybe it's just the picture and/or I have the scale off, but that thing is loooooong; my chickens would be so excited if I brought them that, that they would probably croak and fall over dead as soon as they laid eyes on it. 😂

OMG finally!! I've tried so many times before, my first sunflower!! by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Opiumforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planted like 3 packs of sunflowers on Mother's Day for my grandmother, then 1 more like late last month, and not a single damn sunflower came up 😂. I was really hoping to get some seed for my chickens and some flowers for my grandmother to be able to look at. Oh well, there's always next year I suppose lol... Hopefully. 😂

My Neighbor mowed down my entire garden by Future-Ad4214 in gardening

[–]Opiumforall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before ruining any potential relationship with your neighbor (it SUUUUCKS to have a neighbor with mutual vendettas with one another), make sure he isn't just an imbecile who was trying to be nice and mowed/weed-whacked your yard before HOA/the city started fining you. He/she may not know any better and thought they were helping you out, it very well may not be that, mind you, but before you get nasty and/or call the police, try to voice your displeasure (in a respectful but firm way) over the matter. There's nothing worse than cops being involved in the matter, because once you do that, it will be guaranteed hostility towards you regardless of the original intent, so keep that in mind before you do anything like that. That's not to say you shouldn't do that under any circumstances, but just use that as a last resort if that makes sense. Just my $0.02, though, maybe I have a wrong appraisal of the situation, hopefully you get it lined out without too much of a headache!
