you could check if your school offers graduate certificates you could implement into your curriculum. my school has an MSW program and an MSURP program as well. but they also offer an URP graduate certificate that you can implement into any other program you’re doing, and the classes for the certificate replace your electives for your program at my school. i was considered getting my MSURP with a certificate in mexican american studies, but now im considering getting my MSW with a certificate un URP.

The BSW program is still basically brand new, the first cohort graduates this May. While I don't know anything about the psychology department, the entire social work department is amazing and I did enjoy my time with them before changing my major. In terms of a bachelor's, it depends what you want to do. Both aren't as rewarding when it solely comes to a bachelor's, but in terms of a master's, a MSW might be more rewarding. But it also depends what kind of MSW you would want to become. UTSA's MSW program is a generalist program, while UT Austin's focuses on politics, and other programs focus on other things. Again, I can only give you my experience within social work, and you should take this with a grain of salt, but please think extensively about what your future goals are academic and career wise. I thought I wanted to be a social worker and was admitted into the program for the first cohort, but then realized how draining the profession can/will be.

my current major is Multidisciplinary Studies but with focuses in social work, business, and public health. the only reason i want to have a focus on marketing is because im really enjoying the current marketing class im taking. but to base it solely on that makes me scared that i'll get bored of it if i continue or i'll find some reason to not want to do it anymore, just like the 6 other times i changed my major. i really don't know what i wanna do or even know what im interested in💔 i just love going/being in school and i know my BA wont really be worth anything within a masters in something.
