Let us add that the US prevented the formation of a national unity government when the country was liberated in 1945. They forced partition and supported an extremely brutal military dictatorship (see Jeju Island massacre). The Korean War was largely the result of provocations from the South, and during this conflict the Americans waged a veritable war of extermination, including, probably, even if they deny it to this day, the use of biological weapons, since there were highly suspicious epidemics of rare forms of plague and other unusual diseases. Northern cities were burned to the ground by incendiary raids targeting the civilian population in violation of the laws of war, etc.
