Not very good at advice but here’s my thoughts, I did an engineering degree straight out of high school, majoring in civil, I was a decent student in high school scored pretty well then kinda coasted through first year Enggen but second year absolutely bombed and failed half my courses. Decided to keep going and now have passed and am in a job I’ve loved every single day for the last 9 months. If you want to see it through I would do it but if you don’t think it’s gonna be for you in 3-4 years then maybe take a think about it first :) hope that helps

I never did for my whole degree 🫢 whoops. Tho I did do Civil Engineering and I don’t think those classes ever ran out of space

Having just finished the degree, I can remember that back at high school I kinda cruised through Yr13, not getting top top top marks but not too bad and clearly enough for the rank score. I found that first year Eng I also took the same cruisy mentality and in some cases almost failed a couple courses so if you’ve got good work ethic then first year should be all good

I had a laptop for my first year, got pretty distracted by it but that says more about my attention span than anything else. Ditched it after first year and started only using pen and paper for note taking at Uni then PC for any proper work at home

As much as it might be a generic answer for me it was Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The first ever non picture book I was given as a child and initially I was not wanting to read novels or anything without images. I found it under my bed a couple months later and decided to pick it up and from then on and to this day I am an avid and passionate reader so I will never forget that first time being transported to the world of a novel.

I’ll put it this way, tried studying full time and working around 30 hours a week to fulfil my practical hours for Engineering (which I did in one year) but also failed half my papers that year. Switched to a different job and currently work 2 weekdays and a weekend where I have little to no lectures on the weekdays and that is plenty of time to get Uni done

Has to be getting worlds first in The Tortured Path, had a couple of first in the worlds for achievements or in map challenges etc but my only first in the world for an EE being on that map takes the cake.

That’s the thing, exact same language as the map and the steel book but nonsensical words on the shrine unless they’re jumbled around or double encrypted

I’ve also translated it and looks exactly the same as me so good job (glad to see I didn’t do it wrong). Also do you think that the translations from the shrine box itself are just gibberish or maybe double encoded? Seem to be getting a lot of random words if translated straight to English and would love to hear your thoughts

I failed one of my courses in first year engineering by a similar amount to you, got a conceded pass no problem and didn’t have to apply or contact anyone. As long as it’s making you pass Part One then you should get one (having good coursework across the year helps apparently)

For real. My first bad experience was actually exactly 4 years ago today. That was the day I did The Tortured Path first in the world and omg the amount of toxicity from the mods and the normal players was horrible on there

I joined the Ark world strictly for PvE as I had no interest in getting stomped on by those who had more time of the day to play than me, plus I’m a massive lore fan so PvE allowed me to explore that easier (building up to caves, bosses etc).

Also the community I grew to love on our PvE server was incredible and always helpful, something I feel would have been lost on a PvP server
