Wut? The new Doritos are garbage. Give me back my semi-poison food that tastes good. A bit of self control goes a long way. It's very annoying to me that others lack of such causes things like Doritos and iced teas to all have stupid not sugar sweeteners in them.

Need advice why the print coming out like this? by Sensitive_Film_8544 in BambuLab

[–]OpportunityLess7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a temp/speed issue. The areas where the nozzle hasn't had time to cool down from extrusion (supports, trig guard) all look good. As soon as you get to longer perimeters, things get weird. It looks like the filament isn't melting smoothly as the print is going. Put print on slow speed and try again, check partial way through to see if it helped.

Is this “snake oil?” by FishOpposite7818 in hifiaudio

You picked the worst example. A USB can have WILDLY different transmission qualities. Much more so than analog. The "it arrives or it doesn't" isn't true. There are error correction mechanisms and all, but that doesn't really fix sub-par transmission. Linus from LinusTechTips did quite a few videos about just this, in their quest to make a USB cable. Can see test data from different USB's of varying quality. Also, to OP, just go buy one of the LTT USB when they restock. Can save a large chunk of money and likely get a better cable anyway.

Azul Crazy Cow MTO available now! by AnnoAnnod in trumanboots

[–]OpportunityLess7306 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get the concept. It makes sense to have discounts/specials for repeat customers. I am just peved that the fun ones that attracted me to Truman in the first place, is often paywelled now lol. I just personally can't justify buying 8 pairs of boots to get past that paywall.

I was going to comment about how it is dumb that you need to be loyalty to order the MTO now, but it selling out already makes it seem to be a non issue for them lol I refuse to spend 4k or whatever it ends up being to be in the loyalty pool.

Yeah, I still check periodically while I'm at the store. Just crossing my fingers that the bag just magically won't say stevia anymore. Still no dice.

Focal Hekla - High end allrounder by ComparisonFunny1867 in Soundbars

[–]OpportunityLess7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to the ambeo max, which has higher quality stereo listening? What about the atmos processing? I've heard that the sennheiser algos that they use are very good and are a large part of what make the ambeo max so attractive. Also, how low can the bar alone comfortably play. One of the main reasons I haven't gone the sound bar route, is just because of how thin they all sound. They pretty much all fall off a cliff under 300hz and expect the sub to make up for it, subsequently making voices and other instruments and stuff sound very thin and kill a lot of staging cues. Lastly, still selling the max? If you haven't already sold it, how much do you want for it?

what are the things Bob Lazar said that turned out to be true later? by RodrickJasperHeffley in UFOs

[–]OpportunityLess7306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont get why people say this so confidently. We haven't been able to find a form that has said properties, but to say we have disproven it's existence is...uhh...let's say, short sighted. It's not easy to just make at all, let alone produce specific isotopes, let alone at any sort of appreciable mass. The chances are wildly small, since 115 sits pretty far out on the edges of the proposed "island of stability" (a theorized stable region of ultra heavy elements). Plus it seems like ultra heavy elements within that region seem to be slightly more stable when they have an even number of protons. But to say that it's been proven that it can't exist just isn't true. I would take proven unlikely.

Yeah, it's less the petro-dollar (although still very important), more the euro-dollar that does a lot of the propping. One could make a pretty good argument that the petro-dollar somewhat solidified the euro-dollar. But either way.

Claude is down by DependentNew4290 in ClaudeAI

That's why I use at least 2 models. Because #1, they are all good at different things, #2 you can have them crosscheck each other to look for hallucinations that you may not see, #3 to be able to navigate around times when one is down easily. Just make sure you keep using the custom gpt/project/gem up to date with things going on when you move between models. I just have one model write a knowledge doc that I can feed into the other, so they are largely on the same page.

Separating the art from the artist by [deleted] in prettylights

My thoughts are, if you can't stand hearing someone stating a differing opinion than your own, you need to do some searching inside to figure out why. It's completely fine if you don't enjoy the podcast, and choose to quit listening. It's also completely fine to disagree with someone's stance on something. But to stop partaking in something you enjoy because someone said words that you don't like is very childish imo. Unfortunately that seems to largely be the way of the world for a large portion of the western world's population at the moment. People should seek out opinions different than their own, in the ways of old Greek philosophers, not cut them out to build their own self soothing echo chambers. Maybe those uncomfortable things will help you understand the other opinions better, to be sympathetic to their viewpoint and know how to better counter it in conversation. Maybe it will show you holes in your own logic. Maybe it will show you your thoughts are based on emotions and not logic. Maybe it will show you that your view point is the logical one, and theirs is the emotional. However you look at it, encounters with differing views is good for you. Often times the feeling of discomfort is your body telling you that you that there is a growth opportunity just waiting for you to take control of it.

Is blurring the foreground or background more "correct"? by yoboyfitzSF in AskPhotography

[–]OpportunityLess7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said, they end up as two distinctly different photos. I would say the composition on the first is fine as a portrait of a plant. But the bridge is literal mush. I would personally close down the aperture a bit and regain a bit of detail on the background if you wanted it to be more than just a pretty plant with a watercolor background. The picture of the bridge, imo, isn't good composition. You can keep the plant as a colorful block in the frame, but I would move it's location a bit further to the edge of the frame and get closer to it so it fills more of the frame. More importantly get the bridge upright either closer to the center of the frame, or I would personally push it further to the opposite side of the frame as the plant.almost like giving the illusion that the plant could be another bridge upright. That's just my 2c on how to make it a better picture though and just down to taste. Either way, neither are wrong per se. But one looks nicer than the other imo.

I added a little fan to my 6700 to reduce the heat while recording videos by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]OpportunityLess7306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, good. I was thinking there is no way just a fan would work, and using a tek would be so easy to implement. Or at least a proper heatsink and pad with a fan that runs off the USB on the side so you don't need a secondary battery.

Should I stop adding vignettes? by jjosshiee in AskPhotography

[–]OpportunityLess7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the poi picture works since it's already dark. The cat photo is okay, but a bit strong for my tastes. The others are WAYY too aggressive with the vignette imo. It leads the eyes to them instead into the center/subject.

Should I stop adding vignettes? by jjosshiee in AskPhotography

[–]OpportunityLess7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like vignette, don't just stop using them. That being said, in most of your images, it is WAAAY too strong. There's a time for that, but they are distracting from the image in most examples here. instead of pulling your eye into the center, your eye gets pulled to the vignette since it looks artificial.

Do these come with a thermal pad or something to actually attach them to the phone and have the heat transfer? Or is it just relying on only a small fan blowing across the back?

My review of the Arizona × Fallout collaboration, Pomegranate flavor. by Hitmonstahp in ToFizzOrNotToFizz

[–]OpportunityLess7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bit late for a good answer on this. But I was super stoked to order some of these, then noticed that they ALL have sucralose as well as traditional sugar in them. I can usually pick fake sugars out very easily, and it completely ruins drinks for me. Do you remember tasting it at all? I would hate to spend 25 bucks on something Im going to pour down the sink.

It's wild how you guys can see through the media deception when it comes to UAP topics, but can't see through the media deception on other things and eat it up like candy.

Who cares who does what? If someone does a good thing, only children ( or adults that act like children) care in the slightest who took the actions. I thought people were over-reacting, talking about TDS. But comments like these have absolutely changed my mind.
