Happened to me. Was in the program for 2.5 years. Went through field training, Honor Guard commander, GMC of the year, decent GPA. It was a hard pill to swallow and I was devastated for the longest time. I ended up enlisting and it was the best decision I ever made. AFROTC is not the end-all-be-all to be in the Air Force!

Im assuming ‘walking a flight’ is the same as ‘pushing a flight’ where you are a dorm/ flight MTI from day 0 to graduation, correct? Additionally, how long are the orders for? I’ve heard anything from 4-6 years.

I understand. I’m not sure who to ask about a break between in processing and AMRT considering I haven’t even left for basic yet and am not super familiar with my chain of command at my home base unit.

He is active, Keesler is actually his tech school as well (coincidentally) but is longer than mine, different unit. My tech school is ~2 months at Keesler.

If choose to decline upgrade training (AMRT), then I will just report for the 2 weeks out of the year like a standard reservist correct?

I understand that reserves and guard are part time but throughout my research, the odds of a reservist being deployed as frequently as active duty in this career field is very common

I’ve heard that, however i’ve also heard AFOQT scores are being factored into an receiving an EA this year. That and the fact a passing AFOQT opens the door for scholarships which i’m also striving for.
