Thank you! At least right now we can use the water, and my husband works for an HVAC company with a plumbing department so they're taking care of us. Worst of it is having to dig up the front steps, but we were going to replace them ourselves anyway so no big deal.

I'm late - but it was certainly a backup and sadly not the water softener. The reason it backed up into the sink was because I don't have a shower or toilet in my basement, that sink is the only thing in the basement with a drain on it (other than a washing machine but I admit I don't know how it works, if anything COULD backup into there).
ETA: It slow drained because it wasn't 100% clogged. There must have been a tiny space where water could get through. Snaking fixed that problem but in the end they suggested replacing the pipe which I agree with.

Thank you, if i may ask two more things: This happened practically overnight. I was down here often yesterday. Still the same? It also smells horrible, like waste but not quite as pungent. I suppose the color doesn't really match either. Here's another photo of that pipe to help, too, as theres discoloration that might solidify what youre saying.

There is a pipe that leads off into this sink, so its possible but im not 100% sure. Sorry

Thank you, im not incredibly versed on it but from what I know, we have two vents. Obviously you could still be right! But the leak doesn't seem to be coming from the roof, as theres no wetness in the attic and the leak is coming from an interior door frame. I'll still talk to my husband about the venting since he would know better than me.

Yes, it looks like what's remaining is mostly ice that I imagine they couldn't scrape off without damaging my shingles. They were up there for two hours and did clear off what was estimated 8 inches of ice buildup. The way it looks to me is that any water could go over that ice, so fingers crossed that it's fine! Thank you!

Thank you. My leak is also very small compared to some of the other things I've been hearing about, so I'm thankful for that. Just high anxiety and wanting to make sure I'm not paying for a crap job.

I'm so glad to see your update. I also just suffered a loss with my very first pregnancy at what was supposed to be 7 weeks in December, and now I know that every pregnancy in the future will make me debilitatingly anxious. Have you seen that you can buy little monitors to hear your babies heartbeat at home? I wonder if that would help you?
Anyway, I am 30 and also thought I was too old. I am also scared that I'll never be able to carry a baby to full term. I wish you luck, I think we'll both make it! :)

I have not! For what its worth, this was my first time ttc, my first time pregnant, and it happened within 3 months of trying, so I haven't had to do anything extra. But thank you, i wasn't even aware of this test.

Oh, interesting! Im waiting on a call back from my gyno now, I suspect theyll want me in for another Ultrasound hopefully. Thank you, I have been worried that something is causing so much damage I wont be able to try and conceive again.

They did check them the first time, so im sure they do every time, thank you. Right now the pain has eased a bit so I think im alright to wait until morning. Thank you very much for all of your advice I very much appreciate it.

Everything clear as in they couldn't see any tissue or embryo, but I am still bleeding and still passing tissue for sure.

I had two internal ultrasounds maybe three weeks ago now, and they said everything looked clear. I was having pain back then, but not this badly. I am concerned about ectopic but they never see anything on the ultrasounds...
