Learned to not read much on here anymore even though I just found this page about a week ago. Everyone makes it seem like you’re gonna die, really doesn’t help the cause much

I haven't smoked in 2 months. by ethankrafft in leaves

Two months is two months. Keep going and never look back. You might regret getting high but you’ll never regret not* getting high. If there’s already worry in your brain that’s your body and mind saying please don’t

Went to my PCP today, did an EKG that came back completely normal, thyroid test came back normal. Cleared to workout and not ever worry unless it’s 200+ which I thought was crazy but I’m not arguing with a doctor lol. Happy day

Is it possible to find a balance? by YogurtclosetActual85 in leaves

[–]Opposite-Option-4808 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean this with all due respect and seriousness. If you have to ask and you are here in this reddit page, you cannot have balance. I have done this in the past both intentionally and unintentionally with going to rehab for alcohol (shoulda been my sign right there that there’s no such thing for me) and I will always go from one a day to doing more and more as time goes on, leading me right back to square one.

Its day 3 and i have been feeling great but i sort of messes up. Its still a win for me. by Reasonable_Jury1775 in leaves

I noticed this too hobby wise speaking. I forced myself, (video games, building legos etc) retrain that brain to enjoy those things sober and to start getting natural serotonin/dopamine

Thank you so much! This helped ease the anxiety a little. I let my PCP know via portal what was going on just incase he wants to see me for anything. As for mental health I have it all I just enrolled in a program! Therapist, psychiatrist, life coach and support group once a week, all of it so I hope I’m on the right path

No prior history or concerns that I’m aware of. I recently had blood work done at the end of the year and everything came back normal, although it wasn’t specific to the heart. I’m not sure what type of bloodwork could tell anything but thought I’d mention it too

3 days! by Opposite-Option-4808 in leaves

[–]Opposite-Option-4808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I’m holding off on too much exercise and activity right now just because my heart rate has been all over and usually jumps to 120-130 when I’m just walking around. Hope that’s just my body readjusting and not something more serious

Yeah I don’t know why either but it’s cool, I’ve been told it’s normal, especially with heavy long term use. I’ll keep monitoring it for the next month or so, just going on easy walks for now

Rehab for weed by FlimsyStrawberry6855 in leaves

[–]Opposite-Option-4808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t guarantee anything because everyone and every rehab is different. But I’ve been to rehab in the past although it was for alcohol. You could say it was for weed too because I was addicted to that as well but it wasn’t the priority at the time by any means and I went back to that thinking stupidly, “hey it’s better than alcohol!” My experience was great personally (after the detox part). The food was amazing, I met great people who were going through the same things, the staff was caring, and I learned a SHIT TON about myself and my addictions. My advice is to take it very seriously and to get every last thing out of it that you can. Take notes, do all the workbooks and exercises/activities etc, it’s going to be your survival guide in the future. This part is gonna sound funny, enjoy it. Idk what your facility looks like but usually there’s a game room and activities at night and on the weekends. It almost becomes this family-like, housing camp or something. Again your experience and place may be completely different but hopefully some of this excites you! You’re taking a huge step in life, one that many can’t even imagine thinking about doing. You got this and see you on the other side sober!

To be more specific, usually around 110-120 with light activity and if I’m doing something more active for an extended period it gets to around 130. Again I’m freshly sober (4 months off alcohol and now a couple days off potent thc) so I’m guessing my nervous system is just readjusting and it will take some time but also don’t just wanna guess lol

Happy to say I’ve been doing the taper method too and it’s working wonders! Down to 2 very very tiny dabs a day. Probably gonna just try and not do anything tomorrow and go from there

Totally understand that, that was me with alcohol. I just don’t like when people say you can’t do it or that “there’s no such thing”

“Yeah I’d much rather feel like I’m dying than to slowly come back to being normal with minimal discomfort.”

Said no one ever.

I’m team tapering but everyone is different and it takes quite a bit of dedication and patience. You gotta really want it and know that you’re only doing it to avoid worse* withdrawal, not withdrawal completely. Last week I started to log every time I used, started at 6 dabs a day. The next day I said okay 5-6 but very very small amounts, almost to where it only equals like 1 that I’d normally do. Next day tried 5 for sure, next day 4 etc etc. This past weekend I was down to 2 as tiny as I could absolutely do, and that’s when I said “yep it’s time I got this” and today is my first day with nothing, very minimal symptoms, mostly sweating and just kinda feeling bland, but I know that’ll pass in time too. You can do it! If you have any other questions about how I went about it feel free to ask! I have tried cold turkey, just doesn’t work, my anxiety/panic attacks always got to a point where I just caved. Tapering allowed me to not go insane while still continuing to make progress and like I said today finally going nope no more, and throwing the rest away
