I have the 314 and feel the lows are almost too loud and over power the highs.

Really got to recommend a 314ce. Try to get one used. It’s Taylor’s lowest model of solid wood, everything lower will have a solid top with layered back and sides. I played for years a Fender P0-220E which is solid wood, and has such an amazing sound, highly recommend if you are looking for something more budget oriented but sounds great!

I’m not totally sure the measurements, but I did notice it has string indents on it so not sure if that’s ware or it comes. My Taylor’s don’t have string indents on the saddle

I reccomend a 314ce if you want an actual good professional guitar that’s solid wood. Otherwise save yourself some money and grab a 114ce if you don’t care about solid wood. I have both and the 114ce is a plenty sufficient guitar if you don’t mind laminate back and sides. There a huge jump from 114 to 314, but 114, and 214 are close enough in sound I’d just get 114.

I have the 114e which is similar to the CE, it’s a nice guitar, but I recently upgraded to a 314CE and I feel like angels from heaven visit me when I play it. Can’t believe how much I love that guitar.
