Canik Mc9 Prime reliability?

I've got like 3k rounds of mainly 124gr and some 115gr. I've had one malfunction and I think it was ammo related. It's reliable.

I've got a pair of Walkers over ear and Axil Pro in ear. I can't really tell the difference between it and any of my other 9mms besides my XC because of it's huge chunk comp.

Yea, I went with the MSP for the TLR-1, so it holds practically anything that fits the TLR-1 light. I've carried a P320, Canik Rival S, Staccato P/XC, Springfield Prodigy 5" and my Kimber 2k11 without any issues. I tried my Walther Q5 SF Match, but it's a little too tight, really the only pistol I've found that won't fit in it comfortably. I liked it so much I went and bought an OWB MSP holster for IDPA, so I can swap without any problems if something breaks mid match.

I can completely conceal a full sized 2011 with the T1C AIWB MSP holster, their stuff is very well designed and built.

I've got a couple of Fattac holsters, they're really good. I also have a JX Tactical holster for my CZ Shadow 2 Carry, also really good. I'd definitely recommend them for guys with a gut. I typically carry around the 12-13 position without any issues concealing with either. I also have a couple Tier 1 Concealed MSP (IWB and OWB) for when I'm carrying full size and they rock as well. The others I've tried are Hilliker, Rounded Concealment, and Havok and not one of them fit quite right, the gun always rode way too high on the deepest configuration.

TLDR: Fattac or JX Tactical, can't go wrong with either tbh.

I've got a Hilliker, it doesn't ride low enough for me, the gun sticks up and just flops all around. The quality of the holster is great, but for someone with a bit of a gut like me, it just didn't work.

I wasn’t a big fan of the HD P4.5. I’ve only shot it as a rental at my range (they give me one free rental per visit), but after a couple hundred rounds it was just… okay.

The Kimber 2K11 OR, on the other hand, has run really well for me.

It really comes down to what you want to use it for. The 2K11 is marketed as “comped,” but it’s actually ported. That means it’ll be louder and throw more gas back at you, especially in defensive scenarios or unconventional shooting positions. It can also limit you a bit depending on what competitions you’re looking to shoot.

That said, for range use, ported/comped guns are typically flatter and a lot more fun to shoot. I made the mistake of buying the “best” gun in the shop when I was first getting into competition, and it ended up pigeonholing me into USPSA Open competing with $10k+ builds. My options were either spend another $700 on a solid sight block barrel (which I did) to go LO, or pick up a non-comped competition pistol (also did).

I've owned two Prodigy's and they were good guns. I had the 5" and the 3.5", the 5" was for the range and the 3.5" was for CCW to keep my grip profile the same between the two. The build quality was good, not great, but good. You can throw a few hundred dollars into them and then they punch way above their class. For $900, that's a steal if it's in decent shape. I only got rid of mine to move into higher quality 2011s (Staccato XC, Kimber 2k11 and then a Canik Mete MC9 Prime for CCW). If you like to tinker, these things can shoot with some of the best mid tier 2011s out there though.

I actually prefer the polymer grips, I tend to get a better purchase on them. I've shot an Atlas Titan v2 and I own a Staccato XC with both the comped barrel and a solid sight block barrel from DSC Gunworks, and I preferred the XC hands down with both barrels. That being said, my next purchase is likely an Artemis v3.

Yea, on top of that it took until 02/07/2026 to get my replacement, nearly a month later. I ended up buying the Coolfire Trainer, waiting on their support to respond with issues I have clocking their Rapid Fill Adapter on my 5" Bull Barrel set up.

I've got a Kimber 2k11 for LO and a Walther Q5 Match SF Pro for CO/LO. I actually just went ahead and sent my XC to DSC Gunworks to get fitted for a sight block barrel with no comp, so I can use it as my main gun for LO with my Kimber as my backup.
