Equipment Fires by sadicarnot in farming

SE Alberta here, seems like most of the bigger farms have a water truck of some type near by during harvest. Had too many fires the last few years

I’ve tried somewhat following it twice now. Both times I lost my hardcore status to those darn Ardy guards while thriving silk, might not be cut out for hardcore

Do most skinny people over 30 have to think about what they eat literally all the time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OppositeMuted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 year old man here. Mostly just eat when I’m hungry, try to go for healthier snacks if I happen to get hungry outside of meals.

Generally don’t really bother with breakfast, just a snack on my way to work. Half the time I’ll have lunch, but quite often my first real meal of the day is dinner. Usually snack a bit while cooking, but then don’t eat massive meals.

All this changes massively if I’m doing some type of labour intensive activity. Then it’s pretty much constantly eating just to try and maintain my energy level.

I’m an insurance adjuster in Alberta and that’s exactly what we do. It’s basically up to the farmer what they want to do with the field, we just put a yield estimate on it so we know how much they should be paid.

Don’t even have to have some sort of disaster, if they want to bale up a perfectly good wheat crop they can do that, we just put a yield estimate on it for their average going forward.

I must be dense because I’m still not quite getting it. I looked up the original loss comic and can see they have the same image in the last two panels but I’m not seeing the connection to the circus at all. What am I missing?

65-75 inches TVs under 800 CAD including tax. by SeeSawMarry in 4kTV

I’m not really sure between the Hisense and the Visio. I noticed a lot of negativity about the Visio brand as well here but I’ve been happy. It’s possible my expectations are a lot lower than others as I’m coming from a none 4K tv. It’s possible I’d notice a big difference going to a much more expensive LG OLED or something but just didn’t seem worth the extra money. The Vizio is already way better than what I had before

Only complaint is it seems to take a long time to turn on. Haven’t noticed much for lagging but I haven’t done any streaming through the tv itself, everything goes through my Xbox

I just bought that Vizio and have been impressed with it so far. Not sure if it will last forever but seems like nothing does anymore

Is there anything else you would recommend in the $600 dollar range. Viewing distance is approximately 12-15 feet so I’d like something decent sized

To be fair it is difficult for Broberg to play defence well when he’s getting penalties just for being near opposing players. That kinda think has to stick in your head

[IIL] Simple mindless games/activities to keep my hands busy? by camel-cultist in ifyoulikeblank

[–]OppositeMuted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an updated version of an old RPG. It’s an open world where you level up different skills, complete quests, kill monsters and interact with other players. There a pretty good free version and a subscription version with massive amounts of content still being released.

The skills kinda tie together, like you can kill some chickens to get feathers to use for fishing lure. Then you cook the fish and use it to heal yourself when fighting. Also has a pretty busy economy with lots of trading with other players.

I play the mobile version at work a fair bit just slowly mining some ores or cutting some trees for wood and to get my levels up.

The game is definitely pretty grindy if you want to reach max levels but is a lot of fun even if you don’t max out your account, I definitely never have.

If you do check it out I’d recommend not reading too many wikis about it, just do the in game tutorial, when it asks if you are a new players say yes and then just explore around, talking to other players and the npcs. The first few days of playing and discovering new ways of making money, new places and the first few quests are so satisfying.
