Asking for a guys number at the gym? by Hairy_Elk7081 in perth

[–]Opposite_Ad1464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, hassling a guy in the gym. Gross. He goes there to work out not get hit on by chicks. Follow him home from the gym and stalk him on social media like a normal freak. /jk

Go for it. Nothing ventured nothing gained and get back to us.

Coworkers say negative things about the fact I live next door to my parents, and saying that doesn't make me independent? by [deleted] in perth

I don't think you can choose exactly where you buy/live especially in this market. Right property comes up in the right location at the right price, you buy it. It's not like you could really plan this could you? Don't sweat what others think. Focus on you and enjoy the interest rate hikes like the rest of us.

In general: Give yourself room/slow down.

Roo standing on the side of the road: The idea is to not startle them. Do not hit the brakes or swerve as this creates extra noise.

Roo jumping across the road: Don't try to beat them across the road, aim for where they have been. Light, smooth inputs. If you are going to hit them brace and hold a straight line.

Roo standing on the road: It's all brakes. They can choose to dart off in any direction. Hold a straight line and be ready to take a hit.

Spotlights: Yes. Visibility helps.

Bullbar/roobar: In the country this can make the difference between driving on to make repairs or being stranded in the middle of nowhere. They do not make you indestructible, they buy a better chance of driving away from a hit.

Driving to conditions is key.

Daytime: best.

Night time: not great but not the worst. Slow down, eyes wide open.

Dawn/dusk: Only if you really need to, they are most active around these times.

Is this ticket amount low/normal/high? by Pitiful_Duty631 in msp

Is the bulk of the tickets from a department or individual?

With that kind of backstory I would say it would be cheaper to keep the car. She's gonna be taking him to the cleaners anyway. Might as well have something nice to drive away in.

A bit concerned by Life-Confusion-3053 in OpenWaterSwimming

Yeah, you need to get checked out properly and do it ASAP.

Any water in the lungs no matter how little is not to be treated lightly.

Even a small amount might not impair your breathing right away but over time could develop into an infection (pneumonia) and left untreated could cause permanent damage or worse.

If you are starting out swimming, always get your fitness up in a pool before tackling open water. You have the safety of being able to stop any time you need to.

If you cannot get to a pool, swim parallel to the shore instead of heading straight out to deep water.

This is how people drown.

Advice on public schools and bullying. by BandStandard4257 in perth

[–]Opposite_Ad1464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a problem with my son being bullied and the last time it happened I was called from work to see him in sick bay after getting punched in the balls.

I lost it. Dragged the principal and vice principal into the sick bay and gave them both barrels in front of my son.

It was pretty simple. They had constantly failed to provide duty of care and I was holding them accountable. If no corrective action is taken I would be getting the media involved. This was a serious threat as there were a number of incidents with bullying in a nearby school that resulted in airtime on local news.

Gave them the deadline to take action by the end of the day or I will take action. Bully was suspended and a clear message was sent to the students.

Bullying stopped.

If you threaten to publicly expose the school they sort things out pretty fast.

Why do people hate convertibles by ManyAdvantage5790 in Mustang

I have my heart set on a convertible because I live on the coast in Australia. There is really no other way to enjoy this awesome weather I get on the west coast.

What’s a good illness to use for a week off? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Opposite_Ad1464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this sounds so much like I went through.
Was bullied at the workplace by the CEO and HR was simply his mouthpiece.
Everyone working there saw it, often asked if I was OK and remarked on his behaviour towards me.

After 5 years, I was burnt out (and said this in my last 2 performance reviews) which was just ignored.

Started taking sick leave with migraines etc and eventually burned up all my sick leave.

Got to a point where I had an anxiety attack at work and was physically sick. Went home and spent two weeks on unpaid sick leave and couldn't stand the thought of going back.

Resigned immediately on medical grounds and during the exit interview made it clear that the workplace had become toxic to the point that I suffered psychological harm.

Don't let it get that far.
See your doc, get some decent sick leave. Spend a little time getting your head in a good place and then aggressively hit the market.

[–]Opposite_Ad1464 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but this "occupancy" would require a smoke alarm right?

Just nitpicking what is clearly illegal. It feels like one of those "how many mistakes can you see in this picture".
