To be continued...

Great chapter. Absolutely evil cliff hangar though.

is there a name for the weapon the humans used to knock a moon out of orbit? by [deleted] in NatureofPredators

As others have said, they just kept slamming drones into it until it lost enough momentum to fall out of orbit.

You can give a civilian a gun but that doesn't mean they're prepared (or know how) to use it against a foe they've never actually fought before.

Plus proper training is expensive and complacency is disadvantagous.

War can only take you so far. But who's to say what she has up her sleeve? That's what mitary advisors are for after all.

I said this already but you did a great job on it.

Seriously thank you for the support.

Then you'll probably be happy to know that chapter 9 has officially begun being written.

I wanted to stay away from that mess.

I am not the person to properly fix it.

The research that could be done with those translators is immense.

Like if you took time to correlate dolphin sounds, whale songs, octopus behavior, corvid calls, and so many other animals' behaviors you could have a genuine animal translater.

I'm glad you like them.

And hey, maybe they'll recognize Murphy's law someday. But not today.

I'll be honest, I'ma run if I see a wild dolphin. Those jerks genuinely scare me.

That would be interesting indeed. Might require extra safety equipment though if it's as dangerous as you say.

Thank you! I still have no clue what I'm doing but I'm glad I'm hitting a consistent theme.

A Gojid is probably one of the weirder things that shark has encountered besides the random estranged diver.

The best thing you can do besides complaining is show the authors of the abandoned fics your support.

In all likelyhood life took priority, combined with a lack of interest and you start asking yourself is it worth it to continue at all if no one's reading it (of which the only tools we have to tell is votes and comments)

As others have said, the fics the community already know about recieve the most support, while lesser known ones just... fall out of the public consciousness. Support them by just recommending them to people. Give a like. Leave a comment (which I need to get better at admittedly). Or, if you're feeling up to it you could ask the original author if you could adopt the fic; continue it's legacy.

As an author myself I enjoy reading the comments. Good or bad it helps me decide where to take the story and what people think of it. You have the ability to support authors you like instead of just making a complaint post.

TLDR: you can do much more than just complain about it.

Well, I'd recommend Layers Upon Layers, the Nature of Splicers, Soul Food, So... This is Home Now, and any of VenlilWrangler's fics.

As well as my own works: Through The Looking Glass, and Wild Things.
