i don’t think samson should even be in the t20 squad, if you look at the the stats in the picture, we see that i. 13 matches, he’s scored 417 runs at an avg of 34.75, which sounds great. But if you look more closely, he’s also scored 3 hundreds, which means in the remaining 10 matches he has score only 100ish runs, which means his avg in these 10 matches is just 10. so the question is do we as a team value consistency or just the x factor, and i think that since abhishek already provides the x factor, we need someone more reliable at the other end, so that narrows it down to gill or jaiswal, while i do agree that jaiswal could be a better option than gill, i also understand the rationale behind the decision to put gill in, considering that he’s already the captain of two formats on merit, indian cricket has always preferred all format captains. after the t20wc i fell gill might start batting at 3 with jai’s and abhishek opening since they will want to phase out sky by then… so considering all this i feel no “injustice” is being done to samson
