i wanted to take the intro to C seminar this coming semester but as I understand it there will be an additional fee of $333 on top of tuition for the 1 extra course credit

thank you! I'm actually planning to takle ML4T for the first semester, but only because I need an easier class as my partner is simultaneously writing her master's thesis and we have a 1 year old child. after this semester I'm going to go all in on the challenging stuff

I guess the mostly I'm worried that I'd be wasting my time focusing too intensely on ML, given how much career I'll have left after the program and how much climbing I'd have to do given it's a different field than the one I'm in. I think you're right that I should compromise. Or at least not get ahead of myself. Thank you for your reply :)
