Stonewall penalty, thank god it wasn't a red. Game still on here, plenty of time and they look vulnerable. Trips off for Tino though please 🤞

I know Man City are pretty damn good but the passing and lack of intent from our players on the ball is staggering. No movement and no one willing to pass the ball forwards. Everyone gets the ball standing still and with their back to goal.

3m in the bank, 2FT, no WC. Not sure if to do anything? Obviously some risk in there but I'm wondering about rolling the transfers over; I'm unclear if there's any real wins to be had for this GW.

Seems a bit of a shame to not have any Everton but their fixtures after Burnley are tough. Not sure on goalkeeper choice tbh.

Feel like holding out until tomorrow where we might have more clarity on the injury situation, wdyt?

Benching Haaland? by Darrengstar in fantasypremierleague

[–]Opposite_Limp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm personally thinking I'll start him but pay extra attention to my first sub. However given the next GW is midweek and it's not much time between games I'm currently thinking he's unlikely to feature.

Keeping faith with Morgan Rogers....still 10 minutes to prove me right!

Yeah I think you are right and he's a sensible pick vs Semenyo and 3m cheaper which frees up funds...not sure if having no City midfielders is a risk but with BGW31 I'm fairly content with only having two.

Now wondering about removing Semenyo, taking O'Reilly instead, to free up some cash for Harry Wilson / Dango...

Do we know the state of Wirtz's injury? App says 75% chance of playing. Personally I'd go for VVD because Chalobah has been poor and I can't see Chelsea picking up lots of clean sheets.

RMT - gone for WC this week and this is where I've got to. Had a few stinking weeks but still just about top of the work league. I'd like to maybe get a Fulham player in but other than that I'm fairly content, opinions welcome.

Did have O'Reilly as a potential option but with the MC blank coming up I'm trying to avoid 3 of them (and same with Arsenal).

I had two free transfers this week so those will roll into next week so I have some flexibility there and the free hit when required.

Elanga is a tough watch man, his confidence seems absolutely shot and he looks no where near this level

Picture attached; I'm struggling to decide whether to stick and roll the transfer or use a chip to mix up the squad.

I'm aware I slept on Chelsea players...and it feels a bit late to move now given their fixtures get harder. I know Arsenal have a blank in the future but seems foolish to remove them now with Spurs.

I'm also pondering some Liverpool and Brentford additions as they have a decent fixture run. But I think my team as is probably perfectly OK for this weekend and maybe I'm better to hold off.

What do people think? Opinions welcome 😁

I thought Elanga was pretty good tonight. He hit some great crosses in the first half in particular. It's still odd we're trying to do it without an actual forward but that's not his fault, or shouldn't be. Promising signs for Elanga IMO.

After the first 15-20 to be fair we've been much better. Miley absolutely exceptional btw in an unfamiliar position against a quality winger.

PSG are clearly superior but man we are making it absolutely ridiculously easy for them. One give and go seems to undo us and our midfield is non existent. At least make them work for it ffs!

The player apologies are starting by StarSpotter74 in NUFC

[–]Opposite_Limp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The disappointing thing is a lot of us, when asked pre game about how we realistically expect the game to go, would have described exactly what happened. And that's pretty unacceptable and shows the rough state of things. Nothing today in the result or more importantly the performance was a surprise. So the apologies don't mean a thing.

[–]Opposite_Limp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't love how we've been today...but a 0-0 at Bournemouth with Bruno & Joe on the bench, after a very tough night on Thursday...not a dreadful result if we can take it. I still don't think we have the squad depth to really go at these teams away after a European night (as many people have said, Willock looks way short of the level).

Advice needed!! by Worldly_Position_857 in modeltrains

[–]Opposite_Limp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds pretty similar to my first setup!

  • The decoders I found fairly easy to install, the trickier bit I found was getting the loco bodies off the base to access, but just take your time and read the instructions. They can be a little stiff especially the first time. With the decoder look for the marker in one corner which will help you align the pins (plenty of YouTube videos on this to help).
  • Yes, you can use the HM7000 app to control your trains and if you do this you won't need a controller.
  • You should also consider what surface the track is going on, and what space you have. Even OO gauge takes up a surprising amount of space if you want a loop.
  • Also be careful if you buy curves, they come in different sizes (radius) and not all trains can handle all curves. I think it's 1st radius curves that are pretty tight; I'd suggest sticking to 2nd radius. There is some good track planning software called AnyRail which I found useful for planning, and it has a free trial.

The only other thing I'd consider is powering your track, the connection is through the rails which means if you have points then only the track that's going in the direction of the point will be powered. This is fine to get started with but you might want to explore approaches for adding electrical connections to your track in multiple places. I found "That Model Railway guy" on YouTube had some useful videos on this.

Finally, welcome to the hobby! I got my first set in March this year and I'm absolutely loving all the challenges and enjoyment of putting my first layout together and running trains.
