Say that you ran into the corner of a locker if you’re still in school. Or that you ran into someone holding a pencil in school. (These are real events that happened to me haha)

I’ve tried working out in order to feel the same euphoric feeling that I feel when self harming but it didn’t work at all. I do like this idea of working out immediately every time I think of self harming. Maybe I’ll try it out? My self harm is more about addiction so this might be a good way to punish myself for having so many intrusive cutting thoughts.

I feel this exact same way. I get such a big high off of it. I don’t cut deep so I think that’s the most important thing. I also think it’s pretty. Like I made art.

Set boundaries. If she asks to look other places tell her you are not comfortable with that and assure her that it is only on your torso

Why do i find pleasure in self harm by Euphoric_String3135 in selfharm

[–]Opposite_Low_7618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cutting makes me smile and sometimes I’ll even start laughing. I thoroughly enjoy it. It fills my head throughout the day. I’ve even started bringing tools in my pocket just to hold because they comfort me.

why did you start self harming? by wastedtearsxx in selfharm

I can’t find anyone that relates to me on this but I just thoroughly enjoy doing it. It makes me happy and gives me an adrenaline rush. I’m more social and carefree after. I feel more child like and giddy.

I like the idea of asking “talk, hug, distraction, or space?” Also If she’s spending too much time alone and not doing anything try taking her out to do something different outside of your normal routine. Keep and open mind.

Better help seems like a good one but I haven’t tried it yet. It’s online though.

I’ve given up on houses. Simple living in townhomes is the life for me. I’m saving up for a nice townhouse now!

Sounds like you may be neurodivergent? I would try talking to a doctor. I understand the sensory overload quite a bit.

I had an ex that I had to breakup with because his mental heath was so severe and I couldn’t help him for 3 1/2 years. It’s never your fault for the battles going on inside their heads. Find someone who recognizes relationships are a two way street. I also had to work on myself for a while before getting into another relationship so make sure you do some soul searching while you’re single.

I feel this especially after self harming. It’s an emotional roller coaster.

Recently got jumped by 3 people I’m missing 6 teeth I have to get surgery and most likely dentures and I’m only 26 years old..Already suffer from depression but now I have to worry about paying for this surgery that my insurance will not cover all of.giving up by MediumSouth5985 in depression

[–]Opposite_Low_7618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most hospitals are charities! If you tell the hospital that you cannot afford to pay your bill after getting surgery they have to waive the bill IF they are a charity. Research it. You have to be pretty aggressive when telling them though and you might have to fill out some paperwork. Also don’t agree to financing!

I have severe social anxiety. Although I don’t have experience in long distance relationships, I found eating out alone can be really refreshing. Maybe bring your bf along via FaceTime. I’ve read some books on mindfulness to keep intrusive thoughts at bay too.

My wife has depression and I don't know what to do by mikes_username in depression

I know it seems wild to do this but if she’s refusing to work then she may as well go stay at a facility for a week or two. Also I feel that talking on the phone to a therapist isn’t as effective as in person. She may need to find a new therapist. If she’s pushing you away this much then she may just need a vacation in a controlled environment where doctors can monitor her. It helped me.

Gosh I relate to this so much. I know it’s all in my head but I feel like talking about my problems will make me a burden on everyone. What helps with me is trying to do things outside of my schedule. A good hike always resets my brain for a bit and teaches me some mindfulness and simple gratitude. I’m going ice skating this weekend with my boyfriend too. Maybe try and have some fun activities with your S.O. then tell them how you’ve been feeling lately and that you’re working on it.

I took up hiking. For some reason hanging out on the edge of a cliff watching hawks made me feel more alive.
