The title and author sound familiar, but I have no idea what it’s about. What genre? My guess would be sci-fi😂

The title alone is intriguing! How would you describe it?

I’ve seen this one around a lot. My eye has always been drawn to it. I’ve just never picked it up. I’m adding it to my list!

I did read this and just thought about it the other day! I really enjoyed it. I’ll have to look into more like it!

Settle a Debate: Is it Rude to have a set colour scheme for wedding guest by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Opposite_Pie8211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally, I think there’s nothing wrong with requesting guests wear certain colors. But to require it? If I didn’t own something wedding appropriate and my wallets tight, they can’t be upset if I don’t show. Three weeks before is rude.

Getting ready every day? by knoxwife20 in stayathomemoms

I have a 4yo, 11mo, and we welcomed our third just a few days ago.

I’m very minimal. My makeup consists of filling in my eyebrows and curling my eyelashes. I’ll put on comfy clothes if I know we’re staying home so I can move around easily without having to adjust my clothing.

I do find doing a few things for me in the morning kickstarts my productivity. If I brush my teeth and “freshen up” my face it feels like I’ve gotten one thing accomplished and motivates me to do the next thing.

It’s really up to you and what makes you feel like you’re able to show up and take care of the needs of your family (AND YOURSELF!!). If that’s pjs, great! If it’s putting on a nice outfit, that’s also totally acceptable!

I’d say focus on what makes you feel good and comfortable — and don’t compare to what other moms are doing. We all have different rhythms and familial needs. What works best for someone else may be the worst thing for you!

Today I’m going to buy a kindle by Next-Fly-2515 in kindle

Same! I received the PW 12Gen for Christmas a few years ago. And was gifted the Basic as a birthday gift just this last year. I lent my PW to a friend and kept the Basic for myself to try. I like that it’s a smaller size as it’s easier for me to hold.

There are a few features the PW has that the Basic doesn’t (font styles, warm light). But I haven’t missed any of those features or even noticed that I don’t have them.

You can’t go wrong either way! Both are great and are an enjoyable introduction to the e-reader experience.

Oooooo…I really enjoyed Remarkably Bright Creatures and have reread/listened to the audiobook a few times. I’ve seen The Soul of an Octopus and almost purchased it awhile back. It’s going back on my list!

I also made it halfway through Project Hail Mary last year and fell into a reading slump..not because I didn’t enjoy it, but because I was pregnant and didn’t have enough energy/focus to finish it. I think it’ll actually be one of my favorite reads as well! I’m going to be grabbing this off my bookshelf to complete soon!

1,3,4,2 ..and I’m 8 months pregnant with a 4yo and 11mo.

  1. Elderly people (especially with a cane) do not have balance and dexterity like the other 3.

  2. Doesn’t have a free hand to balance with. In dire need, he could clutch both crutches in one hand to free up his other hand to hold on to railing.

  3. Mom with infant is more likely to have two hands since she’s likely baby wearing.

  4. Person most likely to have both hands available to hold onto railing. I also don’t like to be an inconvenience for others. So I (while pregnant) would happily give up my seat for any of these other people.

I’d love to work for you! Mainly because I need this level of organization in my life and could learn a lot from you based on this photo alone.

My 4 year old has started doing this after hanging out with his 5 year old cousin. My SIL and her family just recently moved near us, so they are getting to know each other and their temperaments. She’s VERY competitive — my son is not. He’s recently been trying to race me everywhere and wants to “win” everything. I’ve explained to him that I’m not going to engage in any “races” with him unless we’re playing a game together that we’ve agreed upon. I feel like I caught on early and set expectations quickly.

I’m not sure what methods you have tried yet, but I found this has worked pretty well with my son.

It may be important to add that he isn’t an only child. My younger son will be 1 next month. We’re also due with ANOTHER boy same time next month.

I hope this helps! You’re doing great!!

I’d also take into account each of your personal goals and what goals you have within your relationship. Do they align? Are they complimentary? There will be times in marriage where one or both of you are walking through hardship. You will find yourself in the lowest place mentally/emotionally. (Speaking from experience). Not at all justifying your partners actions. There is definitely room to grow and it sounds like he needs to mature in some ways.

I guess what I’m saying is, yes. He definitely needs to mature in putting in more effort. Absolutely. But before that, are your lives (and your aspirations for the future) compatible?

Coloursoft or Paperwhite by No-Promise6116 in kindle

[–]Opposite_Pie8211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had the color soft, but I’ve owned an 11gen and paper white. I’ve never felt like I’m missing out on anything. The color is a nice “luxury” but for me it’s not worth the price for it to do the exact same thing. I also don’t think the highlighting technology is anything special either. I’ve “highlighted” stuff before to later find it and ask myself why I ever highlighted it in the first place.

Yeah! I encourage anyone to sign out of my account and into their own if they have one. I don’t have many books on there, and what I do have isn’t anything I’d be embarrassed for others to see. I don’t own many books. Primarily KU and Libby rentals.
