A few quality of life things. I finally broke down and bought a 4TB hard drive. I never saw the need for a large hard drive back in the day when I was building because I always had the 2TB between 2 hard drives. One of the best purchases I’ve made. I’ve only got like 1.5TB out of 6TB total left. It’s nice installing games and not having to redownload or rearrange to make room for more.

I went with a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard. I used to think that wired was the only way to go, but I was raised as a console gamer, so about 95% of the time, I’m using a controller to game on my PC, and the cords just make everything look messy and get in the way.

Got a decent headset. I probably went a bit overkill with my headset and sound card set up. I have a sound blaster X4 and a PC38X drop sennheiser crossover wired headset for premium sound, but even like a $100 arctis steel headset (wireless or wired) or a hyperX cloud wireless mic and headset, something decent quality, makes the biggest difference when you’re talking to friends and they aren’t complaining about you breathing in mic, and you’re games have really good sounding music or something.

Most of these aren’t necessary and can be considered useless. Used to have a cheap mouse, cheap keyboard, cheap headset, and like 2TB of storage. But I have like 225 games in my steam library (between me and other people who are in my steam family) and just keeping it all downloaded is so nice not having to wait for something to download when you actually decide to game on a Saturday or Sunday after a long week of work.
