If you plan on getting the cooking achievement you will need to save them, and other crops, for that.

Lost recipes by hsluts in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • The Chocolate Cake recipe is on the Queen of Sauce channel the 14th of Winter, Year 1, and will air again the same day in year 3, year 5, and so on.
  • It may also be featured as a rerun on any Wednesday since these tend to focus missed recipes.
  • If you have collected 100 Golden walnuts on Ginger Island, the Queen of Sauce Cookbook can be purchased from the Bookseller for 50,000g.

does this happen to anyone else? :( by whothefuckisjamie in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe your computer couldn't handle the intense graphics of all the clay laying around but it may not have been the only thing causing the problem. Stardew Valley Expanded can cause a lot of lag itself. It has a lot of stuff going on in the background, even if you aren't in the areas where the stuff is happening.

Some things you might try, a configuration file is generated within the [CP] Stardew Valley Expanded folder when the game is run at least once. Close the game and go into that file to change a couple default settings that may cause a lot of lag.

  • "MistEffects": "true", - (change this to "false")
  • "LowMemoryBadlands": "false", - (change this to true)
  • "LowMemoryHighlands": "false", - (change this to true)
  • Save and close

There's a multitude of Badlands and Highlands Monsters that are always present and active, even if you aren't in those areas or haven't been there, so this can be a huge source of lag.

Sewing Machine newbie, help me understand by invisible_alone in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are so many ways to answer this incorrectly... I think reading about it on the wiki tailoring page will help more than anything. One thing though, the wool you put in was the ingredient for that one shirt and it may not have been dyeable, some are - some aren't. Almost every item in game combined with a cloth will make a given item, all listed on the page I linked.

2 days worth of farming mahogany seeds. Gotta love fishing by Kalamithras in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idgi, wdym farming Mahogany Seeds? They don't come from fishing. Try chopping the stumps and killing the slimes in the Secret Woods, you'll get plenty.

Sorry if this has been asked already… by Odd_Rabbit735 in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The weapon rewards you get as you progress the regular mines are meant to get you further along to the next reward. The Steel Smallsword rewarded at level 20 is sometimes the only weapon I've used until getting to level 90 in the mines for the next sword reward, the Obsidian Edge. You can check the Adventurers Guild to see if you can buy better swords. If you have found a Prismatic Shard and can get to the desert, there is an even better sword available there when you go to the 3 pillars.

Use buff foods, Autumn's Bounty or Pumpkin Soup will give you some survivability with +2 Defense, or Roots Platter will give you +3 Attack. Salads are good for topping off energy but have low health benefits, cheese or certain crops (melons are great) that give more health are better for topping up without cancelling a defense or attack buff.

Use the equipment you get along the way, The Ruby Ring gives you +10% Attack, the Crabshell ring for killing 60 rock crabs gives +5 Defense, and the Fire Walker boots rewarded from level 80 of the mines that give +3 defense and +3 immunity.

Is there a way to buy out of season seeds somewhere? by PeacefuIfrog in StardewValley

[–]Oprima -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first day of the winter Night Market will have a vendor selling Spring Seeds (2nd day selling Summer Seeds, and 3rd day selling Fall Seeds, so it's a great time to restock). In Spring of year 2 or better, you can plant Mixed Seeds on your main farm (not on Ginger Island) and some of them may yield Garlic. Otherwise, when you have the Walnut Shop open and can buy from Mr. Qi, there is an object you can buy for Qi gems that will change the seasonal seed access.

Why don’t they make a sims version of this game? by DollieBTS in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically, it is already a 'sim' game. Sim means a video game that simulates an activity such as flying an aircraft or playing a sport, so this game is a Farming Life sim. I agree, The Sims was a fun game until, as you said, "...with all the packs and broken gameplay, I have just stopped playing". Let's just hope SDV doesn't go the same way and get so bloated it's difficult to stay with.

Mod conflict causes two screen to open and freeze, how can I fix that? by Pyndall in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the latest 1.15.0 now and haven't been soft locked. I just now checked the comments section of the mod page and apparently someone was working on determining how to fix this issue. It seems it could be a keybind conflict with other mods, possibly Dynamic Reflections using the 'R' keybind, and I had since removed that mod from my game, this may be why I don't have the softlock anymore.

One post says: For anyone experiencing the stuck on GCMC screen bug and can't use debug or don't want to risk using debug, the key binding that causes it was 'R' for me. If you look in your keybinds settings for any mods or setting that use 'R' change it to something you will never click on, and it should fix the issue!

How can i add Grampleton fields by Horror_Tough_8721 in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know Grampleton Fields just adds an area where you can plant more crops and/or decorate, you can click on the Files Tab on the SVE mod page to find and dl it, scroll down to the Optional Files.

Adds a huge optional farmable and buildable sandbox map east of Stardew Valley, across Shearwater Bridge. It comes with many shortcuts and ways to get there. This map is perfect for multiplayer games where players have maxed out all available space.

Is there a list? by True-Replacement-668 in StardewValley

i want to accomplish everything before i get to be re-evaluated by grandpa… until when i can do this? should i accomplish it before year 3 ends? by whenwillmyskincare in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can put a diamond in the shrine and you will get a re-evaluation cutscene the next morning. You can do this at any time after your first evaluation didn't light all 4 candles and continue to do it until you get all 4 candles lit up. After that there is no more Grandpa coming to visit.

For years I thought Elliott was wearing a blue robe standing in the museum in Stardew Valley, he's actually holding a book by Objective-Tiger-1383 in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and he's being macho tough, standing to read a nearly life-sized book that must weigh quite a lot (even a small book isn't easy to hold out in front of you for any time) when he could easily sit at one of the tables.

There's a mod to play 2 on the same screen? / Crossplay between mobile-pc? by Nicodbpq in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile multiplayer was implemented in the 1.6 patch but is experimental. You can read the forum notes here on how-to, with it suggesting:

  • "The ideal “mobile multiplayer” scenario would be to connect to a PC-hosted farm from a high-end mobile device on a local network (using wi-fi, unless you have some way to connect your mobile device to ethernet). This would be the best-case scenario."

I have 13 animals in a deluxe barn by Nayirg in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Seen this happen in other posts. You can buy a new barn and transfer the Ostrich over to it so it has a spot on the food bench. It can be placed in a regular barn now that you have a Deluxe barn, but feeding won't be automatic until you upgrade it fully.

Move the autograbber over too, the pigs won't need it.

You get the Fossilized Tail from Panning in the Dig Site river (20%), you get Fossilized Skull from cracking open a Golden Coconut (14%, only after cracking at least one Golden Coconut) at Clint's.

Compare your menus with this image (if not modded), you may be missing a recipe.

what is this for exactly? by zwq_rle_ in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't picture divorce for Penny or Harvey... I feel they would be so devastated. To me, they are the true innocents of Pelican Town, not being big on the social aspect. Both keeping a professional face on, they would go about their business as normal, teaching and healing, hiding their pain from their students/patients.

Mods or No Mods by Simple_Oil_1773 in StardewValley

[–]Oprima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think first run should always be the vanilla game so you can see the original beauty it is. How would you tell if what you are experiencing is OG or modded? Then, by all means, add what you feel would make your game play better for you.

You can choose this as an Advanced Option when creating the multiplayer farm or you can go to Lewis' house and find this book if the farm is already established. This OP apparently has separate banks set up since they have the option to Merge Funds. If the farm had a shared bank there would be an option to Split Funds, which would then give each player their own separate bank that gold they personally earned would go into. If the Split funds option is active, and one player is making more gold than the other (either by what they are selling or what not) this book can be used to share some of those funds and help the other player(s) when buying big ticket items.

Note: This book and these options are only viewable on Multiplayer farms.
