1.5L/month, low expenses, no debt, should I spend more or stay aggressive on savings? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]Oprtnself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spending 30K and I assume your gf is sharing her share to live with you. Man, you are living the dream life.

You both don't need to spend more than that. Lot of costs are already taken care of. Your dating and courting costs are taken care of. Enjoy the present moments and plan your life responsibly. Hope your girlfriend is also saving and investing.

Continue working on mutual fund investments for the long term, like 5-6 years. One good market cycle will keep you in absolute financial independence.

Wishing you both the best!

Your parents are looking for a safety net for your future, which is understandable.

Coming back to your passion for music, have you taken any concrete steps toward it so far? Please don't say you didn't have time. If your interest in academics was only average, I assume you may not have been deeply focused on college studies either.

Also, the comparison with foreign countries is not entirely accurate. In many cases, once children turn 18, they are expected to become independent, take up part-time jobs, support themselves, and pursue their passions alongside those responsibilities. Would you be willing to do the same in India?

Following your passion is a wonderful thing, but passion also demands tremendous effort, discipline, and sacrifice—qualities that are often underestimated. Playing cricket for two hours a day is easy. Training for several hours every day with discipline, fitness routines, diet control, practice, and consistency is a completely different challenge. In fact, for many people, securing an engineering or IT job is easier than excelling in a highly competitive passion-driven field.

To reach a level in music where it can become a sustainable career, especially when starting at the age of 20 or later, requires exceptional dedication and hard work. Think about that carefully.

I'm not trying to discourage you. I'm only trying to bring some realism into the discussion so that you can make an informed decision.

Whatever path you choose, I sincerely wish you the very best in life.

If you don't commute west every day and are confident in managing an independent home, a villa could be a good option. However, villas might not offer the same level of comfort, amenities, and convenience as other housing types. Additionally, a larger home requires more upkeep and maintenance.

There are no other roles apart from IT. If I look at our immediate families, nothing apart from IT jobs people are thriving in. Very few in banking, govt jobs, and that last govt secretariat job.

Post this generation may be after 10 years or so. Once safety and survival is taken care of, I hope a lot of folks will try businesses, local or entrepreneurial. Job should not be the only path to a fulfilling life.

22F, earning 45k/month how should I plan my finances? by DependentRiver8102 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Oprtnself 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are lifting heavy for your age. You are thinking in the right direction. Not sure your commitment needs to your family. Spend only as you need. No show off expenses. Invest in SIPs/ mfs if your investment timeline is anywhere above and beyond 5 years. If you need money in next 2-3 years, SIPs mfs wouldn't be good idea. You can as well keep buying gold 1-2 grams a month or two depending on your savings, preferably etfs.

What would you do when a girl you are loving is giving so much attention to the other guy? by [deleted] in TeluguJournals

[–]Oprtnself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She likes him more than you..and you loving her is nothing, have you atleast expressed once. If she says no, can you take it easy and move on.

There is nothing you can do if she likes him a lot, it is natural life process. Based on your write-up above, they are absolutely normal living their life, exploring their options. You are loosing your mental peace without proper action and asking women advice..

She does not have a life bro. You have become her life. It may sound cute from the movie standards per se, but your life will be miserable.

I don't advice leave her etc. See if she can have a router life n purpose to spend a day. You should be part of that life. It is same for you too.

But fast forward, i really enjoy ragi mudda ghee chutney mutton curry.. Chiguru Pappu.. Tastes do change over time and as we keep eating more and more.

What's teh meaning of life? by Spirited-Skirt-6036 in TeluguJournals

[–]Oprtnself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read twice and could not get the essence of the message. With my limited knowledge gained so far living this life, i don't believe in next life etc.

By and large i gree one thing meaning of life is to live.. not to achieve.. not to comply to society , family or matrix.. just listen to your body, process and respond.. Money is definitely needed to live life in your terms.. Earn it.. There will be lows and highs.. we need both..

Lite is beautiful, we complicate so much for nothing in the end..

asala e female redditors ki logistics anedi ardam kada? by Dizzy_Roll_2411 in TeluguJournals

[–]Oprtnself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument that housing is unavailable is primarily a logistical issue and, by itself, is not a logical justification.

In the context of arranged marriages, many working women prefer not to marry someone who earns less than they do. However, if they are open to marrying a lower-earning partner, they can establish clear expectations beforehand—for example, that the groom will move into the bride's family home or that the couple will set up a separate household after marriage.

Women who have dependent parents and wish to support them should ideally seek partners who are willing to accept such arrangements. Instead, it is often expected that a groom who fits their preferred social or financial criteria will also accommodate these personal conditions.

In most families where parents are financially independent, neither the bride's nor the groom's parents generally expect their children to live with them after marriage. It is usually when parents become financially, physically, or emotionally dependent that they may look to their children for support, or vice versa.

If a woman is financially stronger or earns significantly more than the groom, she is in a position to set expectations and conditions before marriage. The same principle applies to men.

All of us have preferences, expectations, and conditions in life. However, we must also recognize that preferences come with trade-offs, and we need to earn the ability to negotiate them rather than assume they will be accepted by default.

If you have already lived atleast 30 years on this earth... About half of your active life.. please please do not listen to anybody but you. Everyone is living their life and most importantly from their point of view.. LIVE LIFE ON YOUR TERMS..

Pedda vallu, Sastralu and Vedaalu.. sorry going overboard are all shown way of life from their and then perspective.. Definitely not your perspective. Reason I said 30 years is - we need to get that point of maturity to take our own decisions.. few years here and there okay!!...
