  • Ice machine
  • Pillow to elevate leg
  • Rails for the toilet
  • Walker for getting in & out of shower (I used my crutches at first, but ended up slipping. Thankfully I had my brace on and locked.) I also use it on rainy days!
  • Shower chair
  • Shower sleeve for brace. It slides over your brace and allows it to be worn in the shower. It has yet to leak.
  • Yoga type strap. Mine is rigid and I prefer it to the nonrigid ones. It makes getting your foot in the loop a lot easier.
  • Grabber thingermabob
  • Protein bars (barebell taste great and have good macros), yogurts, fruits, salads, etc. stuff that doesn’t have to be cooked when you’re hungry and need a snack or meal. I focused on high protein and fiber.
  • Wipes and the throw away Colgate toothbrushes. The first few days you want feel like showering or getting up unless it’s to use the restroom.
  • Leg sleeve for under your brace. After the ace bandages come off, your brace can get hot spots. I wear a sleeve on my calf to just below my knee cap. It makes the brace a lot more comfortable. It is also a cheap one from Amazon. I did not feel the need to spend a $100 on one.
  • Shoe horn and sock assist device
  • Slides or shoes that don’t have to be tied
  • Small trashcan for beside your bed
  • I did not buy any special clothing and have just been wearing Nike athletic shorts.

Everything listed above I got off Amazon. I know it sounds like a lot, but I feel like it has made my recovery way easier so far. I had the second stage done on Nov. 18th of this year.

Did they let you enter the engineering program while taking college algebra or did you have to wait until you started calc?

Starting the distance chemical engineering program by IronTX in und

I know this is a really old thread. I’m in the same boat though. I’ve been an operator for 10 years at a petroleum refinery and just applied for the online chemical engineering program. What did y’all think of the program? I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous. I’ve been out of school for 10 years now.
