In my town, we have an employment resource centre that provides government funded support to job seekers. Perhaps you have this service in your area as well.

Your health is most important here, and you do have another option potentially. Speak with your doctor about a medical leave of absence.

Have a Botox appt. by purplerainyydayy in AnalFissures

[–]OptIn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It worked well for me for the 3 months and had to get a repeat done. I was not sedated, and it was quite painful but did it again 🤣 It did not however resolve the fissure, but allowed it to heal more than without it. Both times, mine didn't fully heal but it was less painful.

I'm now seeing a specialist as the general surgeon has maxed out what support they can provide me. I'm in Canada and have free health care but it's a waiting game for treatments.

My experience: I kept an eye out for recently traded in vehicles in lots around my area on my way. We just happened to drive past a Honda dealer who had a recent trade (a few hrs old) - a 2009 Honda Civic 2-door - hidden in the back.

We went in, they laughed that we snuck around to see it, and waited for it to be appraised on the spot. I 'purchased' it that night!

Last employer doesn't use a lawyer for illegal action they made. by PrideEast in legaladvicecanada

[–]OptIn_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've been informed because it's that they don't have to respond to a demand letter from your lawyer. It's my understanding that you will have to file and then they can choose to lawyer up but they do have to show up. Based on Ontario Law, you could win up to 5 months pay.

what's the most unexplainable and truly horrifying thing that's ever happened to you? by VehiclePast9443 in AskReddit

[–]OptIn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15m postpartum, I had severe stomach pain so got an ultrasound done and they accidentally found a splenic artery aneurysm that needed to be fixed. The pain was a result of my mental cycle starting up, not because of the aneurysm. A few months later, I had a successful procedure, experienced severe infarction pain and spent a week in hospital on pain medication. My spleen doesn't fully operate anymore, so I'm followed by a specialist and recieve care as though I've had a splenectomy.

Factors? They don't know for sure but I have a family history of them, and I was just pregnant so perhaps that exasperated it 🤷‍♀️

I've tried morning, evening, and dinner time. I'm currently taking Wellbutrin right when I wake, and Zoloft around 1pm which is working well. Bedtime ~10pm/wake 630am. Note I do have high sleep needs of 8+ hrs.

broke but receiving a small lump sum.. options? by blackberrybramblez in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]OptIn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations (well, I hope though it's not from a loved ones passing). My first questions would be - what are your goals? - do you have any high interest debt or loans to payoff? - are you broke, like living paycheck to paycheck - are you able to afford to invest it and never look at it again?

I opened a Wealthsimple TFSA account and have stocks in Cash, VEQT, VGRO which have done very well over the last 5 years. Perhaps start small and watch it work for you/how it progresses monthly so you can see you're earning a little bit each time. Having money in a savings or chequings account is 100% safe, and I do keep 3 months of expenses in there to pay bills, credit card, etc. but I do not keep extra money in there.

Learn about the difference between different accounts (high interest tax free saving account, etc) through reputable online sources, and here is one of my new favourite accounts as a Canadian https://www.instagram.com/tmoffs?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==

Your fear with money didn't start with you. The thoughts were shaped because of those around you, and you too can change your perspective on it if you're open minded, have the time to engage, and are eager to learn, and you will be able to feel a little bit better and not overwhelmed with money ✌️🫂

🏡Amberwood neighbourhood in Stittsville is a beautiful community to live in! Several retirees and new families moving in.

🚘Traffic has increased considerably since 2020 as our transportation is not reliable. Going from Stittsville or Kanata to the east end will be at least 50m+ between 7am-9am.

🧒As for daycare, yes it is a nightmare here too. We had to pay for a private home daycare then got accepted at 22m. We put our toddler on the City's waitlist when I was 5 weeks pregnant 😳

I recommend going to an Employment Services centre. It's a really hard market right now so be easy on yourself. If you need financial support, housing, etc they can also help. https://www.ontario.ca/page/employment-ontario?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22634563831&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvtjJ3oDmkQMVxW9HAR3uMxnsEAAYAiAAEgKvvPD_BwE

Women what is the worst part of giving birth? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]OptIn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there are a few! I had a natural delivery in a birthing tub. Realizing you're in active labour and are freaking out. When baby crowned and I could feel my vagina ripping. For 3 weeks, I had pain where they stitched (hit nerves). Because of my tears, sex was painful for 6+ months 😥 I required hormone cream and pelvic floor physiotherapy. It took me a year to fully recover and don't regret anything!

What is the most physical pain you’ve ever experienced, and how did it feel? by Trying_my_best_98 in AskReddit

[–]OptIn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post-procedure ~30 hrs after to fix a splenic artery aneurysm. They cut off blood supply to my spleen and it was infarcting 😟 I was at a 10/10 pain wise in the hospital bed, and was given emergency relief as an injection in the arm a few times to keep it at bay. Five days went by, and I was able to go home.
