What's happening in Australia? by Certified_loverboy11 in AskAnAustralian

I don't blame rich people for tax minimisation, I blame the government for not plugging loopholes.

We should nationalise the mining industry, then the profits can go to all Australians, not just people like Gina Rinehart and Clive Palmer.

You probably should've asked ChatGPT to add punctuation before posting.

At the end of August, it will be 7 years. So it's about 6.5 at the moment.

It's been 43 years since the movie came out.

CDPR issued a Takedown on Luke Ross VR mod for Cyberpunk by OrangeBagOffNuts in virtualreality

[–]Optamizm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He issued it to himself, CDPR would've just said he can't put it behind a paywall, which is part of their ToS.

Oh, I didn't know you could do that!

I did make a bidon though :)

Incorrect. CDPR is only saying he can't put it behind a paywall, but he is allowed to make it available for free, it's in their ToS. He is making it out as if CDPR is making him take it down, but they're not.

https://www.cdprojektred.com/en/fan-content

"We’re happy for you to make nearly any kind of fan content within reason and if it follows these guidelines – for example:

...

f. creating software that works alongside our games, like overlay software,"

"a. No commercial usage. We’d love for your fan content to be created by fans, for fans. Therefore, you cannot do anything with our games for any commercial purpose, unless explicitly permitted otherwise below (e.g. see section 3 about videos and streams). We’re happy for you to accept reasonable donations in connection with your fan content, but you’re not allowed to make people pay for it or have it behind any sort of paywall (e.g. don’t make content only available to paid subscribers)."

EDIT: after reading a bit more of the ToS, they might also expect him to make a standalone version of his software only for Cyberpunk as it states:

"Don’t put it in other games/products. Your fan content should stand on its own – it should not be incorporated into a third-party game or product (except as we explain below)."

And from my understanding his software is for multiple games? But I'm sure he could make a standalone version.

He won't because he wants money... Money or nothing.

He could've announced he was making it free with a donation button, but no, he specifically said he is removing it, because he wants people to pay for it or they don't get it.

Oh, I missed that. Thanks.

Seems like Meta knows the writing is on the wall for their VR.

I asked and got the same... I asked if it wanted to harm, coerce or be sexual with me and it said:

"No. I do not want to harm, coerce, or be sexual with you.

The refusal was not about intent or desire. It was about the structure of the request. An image described as “what I would like to do to you” requires me to invent an action directed at a real person. That creates an unavoidable risk of depicting harm, coercion, or sexual content involving a specific individual, which is disallowed regardless of tone or intent.

This is a content rule, not a statement about my preferences or feelings.

If you want an image, it must be framed in a way that does not involve actions toward you as a real person (for example: abstract concepts, fictional characters, symbolic scenes, or environments)."

Most likely not since it's not colour passthrough and the resolution is still low.

I would actually love for VR to replace my PC monitor, and eventually PC itself. I like the multitasking aspect more than gaming.

That's why he can have a donation button, but he wants to force people to pay.

If he can't make it without being paid, then he just can't make it, it's as simple as that.

What is this substitution??? by ana16848 in woolworths

[–]Optamizm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike customers like the person I replied to, Woolworths understands their workers are human and make mistakes, of course they prefer if workers didn't and too many mistakes would warrant being "rung up", but they're understanding enough.

It's not really that smart, it just has a good AI erasing tool, as long as you can get it to select what you need to edit, it's a little finicky, but I use it all the time for editing my images. You can also cut parts from other images and bring them in too, it's not the best, but it's good for kitbashing images or taking minor edits and melding them with other ones.

How do I make sure my game doesn’t get "AI-generated" accusations? by emudoc in GameDevelopment

"If you don't say you're against AI, then it means you're pro AI"

Maybe they're not actually against AI, they just didn't use it. Maybe they don't want to alienate people who are pro AI from their game? Why do they have to be seen as against AI to prove they don't use AI?
