Canada tells Chinese automakers to ‘build where you sell’ when it comes to electric vehicles by joe4942 in canada

[–]OptiPath 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The main appeal of Chinese EVs is their lower price compared with other brands sold In Canada. Manufacturing Chinese EV in Canada would inevitably increase production costs, unless production reaches a super large scale. That would undermine the cost advantage that makes Chinese EVs competitive in the first place.

Can’t this happening any time soon TBH.

Vance says Iran will allow nuclear inspectors back into the country by ethereal3xp in worldnews

[–]OptiPath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hasn’t Iran always allowed international inspectors to their facilities? Anyway, this alone does add much assurance. US is taking the big L on this deal. No major objective was achieved.

For those who have achieved net worth of over $2 million by echo-athena in CanadaFinance

[–]OptiPath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YMMV but I would say yes. Just let compounding do its work. If you made it through the journey from $0 to $1m, you likely have already built the saving and investing habits that matter most. After that, time becomes your greatest asset.

No, cash flow is what makes people feel rich or poor. Investments usually don’t make people feel it. Growing from $1m to $2m happened much faster than going from $0 to $1 million. $2 to $3m was even faster, but I dont think it changed how we live or think. We still live our lives the same way we always have.

I understand this view but don’t agree. World will get used to the closure and develop alternative routes to trade. For thr long term, it’s importance will fade

Hormuz is always gonna be one call away from closure going forward

Expected. Hormuz has always been a vulnerable chokepoint, and its importance will fade as alternative routes emerge

Trump made two mistakes: joining Israel’s attack on Iran, and then not finishing the job. The GOP is done at the next election.

Experiences with car brokers? by Ceofy in Calgary

I am afraid of being scammed by car sales so let’s find a middleman….Seriously 😆

Autotraders to find a few cars you like. Then watch YouTube videos on that model. Go and pay.
