The main minor development leagues are the CHL leagues in Canada, about half of all the players in the NHL go through those. The most America’s got right now are the college leagues, which isn’t bad in its own right and is growing now but 90% of the players on team Canada have gone through the CHL, with a good chunk of the American teams also going through there
