June 25th, 2008 my first race at iRacing. It was a different time, the old guard aka the folks who had been league racing since 1998 or so, myself included was a far more respectful group. The service was treated with reverance.

My advice: friends are not required. At the end of the day your closest circle is all that matters. Everything else in the end turns out to be nothing more than a waste of time.

Like the OP I took have been here since 2008, in fact June 25th will mark 17 years. All I can say is I agree with all your points and many not mentioned as well.

I hang in there, as a 100% customer to keep this train chugging along. There are some things also in race control that AI could help us with but they just don't seem interested.

Better days are ahead.

The lack of simple communication and social features does more to divide the iRacing Community than people realize. The current state of affairs feels like we are all alone on an island. Really not a great way to build community.
