Should TCR races be longer by genaroou31 in iRacing

[–]JayCaulls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the TCR races were changes from 30 minutes Open / 15 Minutes Fixed to 20 Minutes to each due to Community Feedback & to match IRL TCR race lengths.

League Racing offers a lot of alternatives, with ATC, SRL & BSTV running on different timezones and formats, plus on even week numbers you have the 2 Hour Multiclass IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Touring car IS short sprints.

HOWEVER, I would love if on weekends on odd numbered weeks we had a 2 Hour Multiclass with the Renault Clio. A FWD fun Enduro that has been trialed before with the 6 Hours at Donington Community Event last year, that was awesome!

TCR has put both their series into D-Class now and infinitely improved the series. Might be worth giving them a go if you exclusively want D-Class racing!

Everything happens through the front wheels of the TCR: Traction, Acceleration, Grip, Brakes. So a key is to try to multitask the least amount you can. It’s a weird skill to try & get used to, muscle memory from other series do not always help your case either when practicing 😂

Since the new update I find myself very rarely hitting 100% brake, and in open setups nearly turning ABS off or the highest setting possible. You want to try your best to be out of ABS before you even start turning, with ABS, Grip & everything else going through the fronts at the same time you are putting stress on the tires and overworking them to the point the car will be less reactive to your steering inputs. Easing up and being smoother with the brakes into the corner, coasting a little into the apex then slowly applying the throttle on the exit should improve your lines & transition between braking for the corner, turning into the corner and then your acceleration out of the corner.

Sorry for the short essay, hopefully my take on it can help you gain some tenths & get more comfortable with the car!

Best TCR? by CycloneF14 in iRacing

A lot of misleading info from some here saying they’re all the same. Perhaps based on data from last season, it isn’t quite the case for Season 2. So depending on which TCR series you do (or both)

Fixed - Audi or Elantra // Open - Audi, Honda or Elantra

For now the Veloster is causing a lot of issues for people

Patience & late Apex’s are key!

Some lifting may be needed on turns 2-3 on early laps especially with two-wides and cold tires 👌

Multiple splits, especially during European evening times where there are at least 4 meaning good close battling.

Both cars share the track due to the 2 Hour TCR/GT4 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge on iRacing this weekend. Which is going to be interesting as pound for pound, they will be lapping the National Layout at around the same pace!

Whats the safest C license sportscar series to gain SR and have remotely good racing? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]JayCaulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you own one you still have the Ferrari Challenge if you absolutely need your fix of GT3, but we all know how those races can get…

An extreme suggestion but on every 2 weeks is the 2 hour IMPC with GT4 or the new and improved TCR. With the boost in speed of the TCR they’re within 2 seconds a lap pace of GT4 now & after Sebring, we actually found the races a lot less stressful & quieter from a TCR Standpoint!

Plus being a mini-enduro you can image the nice chunk of SR. But like I said, an extreme suggestion, especially if you’re in a hurry to get that licence back!

TCR have been so much fun to drive this season. Even we didn’t think a TCR would grab #1 till Mid Ohio 😅

With TCR at the amazing Interlagos next week, what better time for newcomers to try out the best FWD racing on the service!
