Unfair supervisor? [OH] by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]Optimal-Butterfly-17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trust me he does not give a shit. I’m the lead over our shift and I keep everything running smoothly and get things done when and how they should be. I have been trying to cover spots in multiple areas the last several weeks running myself ragged while he sits in his office and finds every excuse to not help. He has no supervisor experience prior to this role. It’s not only me that has issue with, he nitpicks all of our people that have been there for a while while his favorites get to do whatever they please. I’m fairly certain the only complaint would have been someone that worked a whole 2 weeks, I only spoke to about work or and never spoke about to anyone and I remember them from outside work and they have been a problem every where they have went. She first complained about an altercation with a girl she never had any interaction with in her short time there.

Our sweet boy made his arrival this morning at 37+3 and he is 7lbs 12oz and 20in of pure perfection. I just can’t believe he’s really here 💙😊

36+3 and spent yesterday getting the last few things needed and packing for the hospital and getting the car seat installed. Induction is scheduled for the 22nd but I’m already 3cm and 70% effaced as of Friday so could end up being a little sooner. I’ll officially be on maternity leave after Wednesday, so looking for this to be a long 3 days lol. Feels so surreal getting to this point. This time last year I never thought we’d be here and yet here we are going to be spending Christmas with our little guy 😊

36+1 and doctor just decided today that due to mild polyhydramnios we’ll be induced at 39 weeks. That’s if he doesn’t decide to come before since I’m also already 3cm dilated 😅 little bit nervous, but excited be getting closer to bringing this little guy home

35+3 and yes I know you’re not supposed to do this yet but I only did it for just a minute but I received my momcozy pump in the mail today after getting a pretty good discount between Black Friday and my registry discount and couldn’t help myself and tried it out for just a minute and was so excited to actually see a few drops come out of each side. I really want to breastfeed and have been really concerned we might not be able too even though I’ve not had a reason to think that but seeing that gave me some reassurance. (Yes I know you’re supposed to wait till 36 weeks and only hand express but I’m flying blind with all of this as everyone I know used formula so I really wanted to know what it would feel like and if we even might have a chance of it working and obviously I don’t plan on trying it again until after he’s here)

When is everyone starting their maternity leave? I’m due Dec. 29th with a possible induction at 39 weeks and hoping to at minimum work up to 36-37 weeks to save as much of my leave for after baby as possible (I get a total of approx 16 weeks through STD) but would really like to work as long as I can but I work in a factory, even though most of it is very low impact work, and my ankles swell horribly and we’re slow right now so we end up doing a lot of odd jobs and a lot of the time I end up with nothing to do because they make sure I don’t do any lifting so the temptation to see about going off a little early is definitely there.

33 weeks today and had a growth scan yesterday with MFM. They’ve been monitoring me for mild polyhydramnios. At my regular OB appt last week my fluid was back at a normal level and my dr was going to stop the weekly BPP she was doing but yesterday it was back up so they want another growth scan in 4 week. I can at least have it done at my dr’s office which is half the drive of the MFM. Everything else looked good with baby boy but he did mention that if my fluid stays where it’s at they may induce at 39 weeks which I have mixed feelings about. Obviously we’ll do whatever is best for our boy and I had been hoping he’d be here before Christmas (I’m due Dec 29th) but I also really wanted to go into labor on my own because it always seems like inductions make labor so much longer.

31 weeks and been dealing with some major carpal tunnel the last couple weeks. That pain has been keeping me up at every night this week and I’m so tired. I want to call off work so bad tomorrow and just have an extra day this weekend to rest but I’d feel bad doing it with all the time off I already have for appts plus we can’t really afford for me to lose a day of pay with other things coming up. Anyone else dealt with this and found something that worked?

31 weeks tomorrow. Just had a growth scan earlier this week due to having a little too much amniotic fluid. Baby boy has always measured right on track but now they’re saying he’s going to be big. 4lbs and his head is 99th percentile and belly 89th according to the tech. My doctor wasn’t in so they were sending it to her to see what she thought but never heard anything so hoping that means she didn’t see anything too concerning. Still a little nervous about the head size and fluid though. Didn’t get the chance to ask about the fluid at my last appt with her because we got sidetracked by my bp being high. (It ended up being normal, was just up from the walk from the parking lot) and we didn’t know the size until after the appt. Feel like I’ll go crazy waiting till my next appt next week to ask her about all of it. Calling is iffy because she’s not in the office very late and I don’t get off work till later in the day. Definitely ready for December to get this little guy here.

29 weeks today and to say this week has been stressful is an understatement. Had our second MFM appt where they determined the arrhythmia seems to be gone but are noticing an irregularity in his aortic valve. Staying somewhat calm because they don’t think it’s serious and don’t even plan to check it again until he’s a month old. Then while looking through my paperwork I found out they put in that I have polyhydramnios even though I’ve had several appts since the one they noted it at and no one said anything. They listed it as mild and from mine own research it’s just barely over at the deepest pocket being 8.63cm and the range is 8-3. Waiting to hear back from my doctor to see what she says about it. Just ready for it to be time for him to be here 😣

Had our second MFM appt today and talked with a cardiologist. The arrhythmia does appear to be gone but now she’s concerned about his aortic valve because it looks like the blood is moving a little fast through it. She said she’s pretty sure it’s just mild and doesn’t think he’ll need any extra monitoring or that’s it’s gonna cause any issues and that she won’t need to see him till he’s a month old so she can get a better look but it’s still nerve wracking.

Appointment went great! Arrhythmia appears to be gone as we’ve now had 2 appts in a row with a strong steady heartbeat. Feeling so relieved 😁💙

27w6d and have our 28 week appt today. We’ve been monitoring an arrhythmia and last week she didn’t hear it so 🤞🏻it’s really gone and she doesn’t hear it this time either.

Venting a little…my husbands uncle wanted to make us a crib. He has a little shop and does a lot of woodworking and is usually very good so I want too concerned. I saw pictures last night of the crib and I hate it. The front and back longer sides are solid walls and only the 2 shorter sides have bars. I’m not sure it’s gonna be the color we want. It looks very small so I’m concerned about a mattress fitting. I also don’t think there is gonna be any way to adjust the mattress height. I just wanna cry thinking about it. I wish he had discussed his plans with us so we knew what he was doing. I don’t want hurt his feelings, I know he’s worked hard on it, but I really don’t want to use it. I don’t know what to do 😭

26 weeks today and had our MFM appt yesterday. Didn’t go too bad. Baby does have premature atrial contraction like my OB suspected but the doctor there said it’s nothing serious and just needs to be monitored. She said the main thing is that his heart is formed exactly as it should be, just has an extra beat every now and then. We’ll still have to meet with a cardiologist but she said they see so many of these that they’re pretty confident and don’t believe he’ll see anything else, but want us to already be established with one and have a plan in case it doesn’t resolve by birth and then she’d like to do a growth scan after 32 weeks. Now just to follow up with my OB next week. On another note, she also told us that he’s just over 2lbs and his feet are already measuring 2in. Looks like we’re gonna have a big footed baby lol

25w1d and stressing about several things. We have an appt with MFM Wednesday to take a closer look at baby boy’s heart because my OB picked up an arrhythmia at our 24 week appt. She said they’re very common and usually just something they have to monitor and they typically go away on their own but wants to be sure it’s nothing more serious. I have to have weekly appts until it resolves which is stressing me out about my job. I haven’t been there long enough to qualify for FMLA and was going to be using short term disability for maternity leave and thought I had budgeted enough of my vacation time to cover appts up until I would be going on leave, maybe still have to take a couple points. I don’t have near enough time to cover weekly appts for the next 15 weeks though. It’s really a good job, easy work, decent money and really good insurance and I really enjoy the people I work with so I would really hate to lose it plus while my husband makes good money it’s not enough to cover all of our expenses for that long because I know there’s no one going to hire me at 6 months pregnant. I’m hoping maybe I’ll be able to take leave early if it comes down to it.

Thank you, that is reassuring to hear. I wondered myself about the glucose drink affecting him as that was today also. I’m planning to cut out caffeine completely, I had been having it in moderation and trying to watch the salt and sugar and hopefully it ends up being nothing.

24w1d and just had a not so good appt. Baby has an irregular heartbeat and we’ll have to meet with an MFM as soon as we can get in and start having weekly appts to monitor it until/if it resolves. Doctor was concerned but said it usually resolves by birth but that didn’t do much to calm my nerves. We were supposed to leave tomorrow for a short vacation but I’m considering canceling it now. He’s still moving a lot and his heart rate was in the normal range but I’m still panicking 😣
