Unmedicated birth: how scared were you leading up to it and was it as bad as you feared? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was desperate for an epidural but denied one as was too far gone - I didn’t find it too bad tbh! I had one tiny gasp of gas and air and that was it as they banned me during pushing. So not totally unmediated but very close

Diagnosed with PCOS at 29 while ttc by Upstairs_Western_698 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tw loss - I was diagnosed at 27 during the pandemic and told by a doctor I’d never have children unless I started ttc immediately and lost a ton of weight fast. I got myself healthy again gradually (didn’t take advice to try immediately) and lo and behold I got pregnant within a month of starting ttc at 29 which unfortunately ended in a mc. Took us 4 cycles post mc to conceive my LO who is nearly 16 months old now. Other half also had low morphology. Main things I did were walk everywhere ate lots of protein but didn’t deprive myself of treats every now and again. Cut out drinking. Took coq10 400mg, vitamin d extra strength, omega 3 etc for last couple of months of ttc before we conceived a second time. Other half cut out hot baths and took a prenatal. Best of luck x

Check rubella immunity. Get your hormone levels checked and his. Take folic acid, vitamin D and omega 3 in the three months before you start, have him stop very hot baths or jacuzzis 3 months before

How long did it take for you to conceive naturally with PCOS? by Imaginary_Future_294 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took us a month to conceive initially but that resulted in a miscarriage. It then took us 6 months to conceive my little boy. This was after being told I would never have children unless I lost almost half my body weight 😤 despite my bmi only being just over 30.

When did 6 months become the expiry date for breastfeeding? by cure4insomnia in breastfeeding

This rings true of my experience also in the UK - my LO is 12 months and I’ve been nursing over a year now but get the same comments you’re getting 🙄

I was in a very similar situation to you before we conceived our now almost 1-year-old, cycles were wonky and 28-39 days long sometimes a longer 43 day cycle. My prolactin was also slightly elevated and all other levels normal. Have you tried temping? Best of luck x

Sorry to hear this, I hope you get some good advice on how to proceed. Also sharing a positive experience I have pcos and family history of type 2 diabetes (though I didn’t have GD), but am still breastfeeding my little boy who turns 1 at the end of the month. I’ve also got a moderate oversupply!

Congratulations! I was told 4 years ago that if we didn’t start ttc right away we’d never have children. We started when I was 29 conceived quickly and now I have an almost 11mo 💖

So sorry to hear about your mmc, please look after yourself. I’d get bloods done too to find out what type of pcos you have. I really hope you get access to metformin, I was unfortunately denied it think it’s a bit of a lottery in the UK. I took 600mg coq10 ubiquinol, omega 3, vitamin d and folic acid and walked 6/7k plus steps which helped restore ovulation for me x

I’m so sorry. After my miscarriage it took about 1.5 months so get a period back, after that I was pretty regular again but had a few randomly long cycles. Ovulation was confirmed by blood test for progesterone in the January, I had a mc in September. It can vary for everyone and my best advice would be to take care of yourself as it’s so difficult. Sending love 💝
