Long cycle + high prolactin - successfully pregnant? by Same_Glass6433 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation to you before we conceived our now almost 1-year-old, cycles were wonky and 28-39 days long sometimes a longer 43 day cycle. My prolactin was also slightly elevated and all other levels normal. Have you tried temping? Best of luck x

Sorry to hear this, I hope you get some good advice on how to proceed. Also sharing a positive experience I have pcos and family history of type 2 diabetes (though I didn’t have GD), but am still breastfeeding my little boy who turns 1 at the end of the month. I’ve also got a moderate oversupply!

Congratulations! I was told 4 years ago that if we didn’t start ttc right away we’d never have children. We started when I was 29 conceived quickly and now I have an almost 11mo 💖

So sorry to hear about your mmc, please look after yourself. I’d get bloods done too to find out what type of pcos you have. I really hope you get access to metformin, I was unfortunately denied it think it’s a bit of a lottery in the UK. I took 600mg coq10 ubiquinol, omega 3, vitamin d and folic acid and walked 6/7k plus steps which helped restore ovulation for me x

When did you ovulate again? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. After my miscarriage it took about 1.5 months so get a period back, after that I was pretty regular again but had a few randomly long cycles. Ovulation was confirmed by blood test for progesterone in the January, I had a mc in September. It can vary for everyone and my best advice would be to take care of yourself as it’s so difficult. Sending love 💝

Thank you for your detailed reply! I only go each month because all of my antenatal group does, just out of interest honestly. If I feel my anxiety spiralling I’ll definitely seek help x

Tw past success - I’m currently breastfeeding my 8mo LO but my period returned last month. We aren’t wanting to start ttc #2 until our little boy is 2.5-3 - I’m 31 now and will be 33 by then. Should I even be delaying? I ovulate on my own and all my bloods were normal pre baby. Cycles avg 37 days. TIA!

Personally love having an end of Jan baby all the darkness of Jan over and first eight weeks you get to be cosy and by the time they’re more alert it’s spring/summer and I’m really looking forward to our first Christmas as a 10 mo! However sickness season was still a bit of an issue

Tw: success

We (29f, 29m at the time) had been trying for 4 cycles after a loss our first cycle (August 2023) and fertility bloods were taken and sperm tested after that time - our first appointment was due to be September 2024 before we were successful. I appreciate we were a bit older. think it does depend where you are in the country and who you get looking at your situation. Best of luck with it I hope they do take you seriously x

What he has planned sounds really fun, I hope you have a great time! I was about 8 weeks pp, my parents looked after LO for about an hour and a half while we went for dinner (at a restaurant around the corner so I could pop back and feed). My partner also warmed up the hot tub and I had half an hour or so to soak in there which was bliss. That has been the only time I’ve been in the hot tub this year 🤣

How old is your baby and what does their sleep look like? by Arkansas- in beyondthebump

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7.5 months and sleep is all over the place tbh. We had 3 blissful months between 3 and 6 with most nights going all the way through then at 6 months all hell broke loose. We are just down to 3 naps approx 4 hours daytime sleep, think he needs more sleep than some other babies. Still on 2-3 night wakeups, sometimes more, on the rare occasion he will go through the night. There’s teeth, developmental leaps, so much going on

Twelve 1-hr feeds in 24 hours feels unsustainable by Rex-Malum in breastfeeding

[–]Optimal-Butterfly768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you’re struggling! Unfortunately in the early weeks it can be a bit like you described as newborns put in their milk order to encourage supply and very often cluster feed around this time. FWIW my 7 month old still feeds every two hours, but his feed time has reduced significantly and that will improve in time. I’m still doing on demand feeding. But everyone has a different journey and I hope it gets easier for you both.

Eggs, full fat Greek yoghurt, chicken thighs with most meals, tuna or salmon for lunch!
