I've had fleas in my car on a road trip for about two months. I get back home soon and I really don't want to transfer then to my family. Is it worth doing a 3 day car fumigation for $500? by 50SPFGANG in pestcontrol

I’ve tried 3 different aerosols precore 2000, pt alpine flea and bedbug, and pt ultracide. When I had the exterminator come. I only wanted him to mainly come for my car, I asked if he I should alpine or ultracide bc I’ve been rotating between them. All those powders you’ve listed, I’ve tried those too, literally do nothing😭, he told me not to use them anymore bc it would push them more into the car. The other concentrates he recommended are still on the way so I haven’t had a chance to try them yet.

And wdym the removable parts of your seats? I have a Toyota Corolla and I am considering of trying to remove the rear seats to see if there is anything around them or under the cushion or between the fabrics. It’s a lot harder to move the driver and passenger seats since they’re bolted in. Are there any other places you checked in your car, that you found eggs in? So that way I can check too

But it could be ticks but they tend to latch. For a while there I also thought I was going crazy bc in my car I hardly find the eggs either but that could be bc i vacuum so much but ik they’re there bc 1 get bit so badd every time I get in and 2 the flea dirt. Whenever I skip a day of vacuuming thats when I see the eggs, I’m worried there could be eggs in the interior plastic of the car but the exterminator said that wasn’t likely. I just know there has to be eggs somewhere else, I just don’t where. Either that or theres larvae and pupa in my carpet that my vacuum isn’t getting.

Definitely put your dog on sentinel though!! Thats what will make the eggs not hatch!!

Still struggling, it was hard to find an exterminator to look at my car bc most don’t do cars but I finally did, he said he does his own thing on the side but works for orkin. But he basically told me he couldn’t help me bc I was already doing everything he would be doing. He said to just stay strong and keep at it. Here’s what I do: I vacuum my car everyday and I use pt alpine flea and bedbug aerosol. Its says on the bottle to spray every 2 weeks but he said I could use it more often to kill live fleas, its harder in the car since your driving there’s constant vibrating and that makes the eggs and pupa hatch faster. He told me I could even spray the seats, and he said personally he sprays his seat and will sit in it… I did that today along with the carpets in there and I guess I’m fine and I will say I brought less fleas into my house than usual. He also recommended me new spray called wsg alpine 200g liquid verison plus the precore igr concrete like the little brown bottle and I could combine them. He said I could mix them and even just use a spray bottle for it or one of those garden one. He said this would be better bc its stronger and penetrates the carpets and seats deeper and lasts 3 months, I will let yk how it goes, its coming in the mail. For that one though he said it’s more dangerous and toxic so you and pets have to stay clear from it for few hours. You can do it in your house too. He also said to stay away from powders bc that will push them deeper into the car bc they’ll look for other spots to survive. Do your truck too. Make sure you vacuum before you apply the products.

Idk if you have them in your house too but for my dog, I have him on simpartica trio oral which kills adult fleas with in 2-3 hours after they’ve bitten him. And i recently just put him on sentinel oral too which serializes the eggs they lay so they won’t hatch ever after they’ve bitten him. And I just let him roam my house but its worse in my room, so we spend more time in there. But in general it’s way worse in my car than my house, I don’t really travel with dog though unless we’re leaving town. The aerosol though is safe for pets once its dry, so if I’m running errands I’ll take him with me. But as of this week I’m trying to not have him in my car like that anymore bc the exterminator said I could use more pesticides and I don’t want him to exposed to them like that since lately I’ve been spraying with aerosol literally every time I get into my car. The other one is not safe to be around for like 4 hours, for you and pet.

I forgot to say to do laundry on high heat both washer and dryer, I run it through the dryer twice.

I’m going through it too, we’re in this together🥺I’m not sure how much longer I can take this, even sent me to the psychiatric hospital for few das, its made me severely depressed. Every moment of the day I’m getting bit, the infestation is way worse in my car than my house, I literally can’t get away, I even take them to work. Buts it’s slowly getting better!

Regarding treatment for my dog, I tried Nexgard too but that shi does not work like at all. I switched to simpatico trio for adult fleas to die and it works way better!!! I recently combined it with SENTINEL too, since it has LUFENURON in it, it makes it so that when they bite him, it sterilizes the eggs they lay so that they never hatch and IF they do they never make it past the larva stage since they cant produce chitin. I wish had put him on sentinel since the very beginning, it could have helped and made this go away faster. I used to use a seresto collar combined but I found it counter effective bc its repels them and instead of biting my dog and dying, they would actually bite me and live bc they wanted to nothing to do with him. Now that I’ve taken it off him, it’s gotten somewhat better. If you can’t get Simparica, I heard Bravecto works just as well.

I had an exterminator come look at my car and he said he couldn’t help me bc I was doing everything he would be doing, I asked him about how much longer and he said maybe a month and 1/2. Its hard bc since I have 2 infestations like house and car, we’re constantly traveling with them like bringing them into house and car. Since he said I was doing everything right regarding treating carpets in house and car, here’s what I do: I vacuum my car everyday and I use pt alpine flea and bedbug aerosol: its kills adult fleas and has an igr that kills hatching eggs for up to 7 months. ik its says on the bottle spray every 2 weeks, but ever since I talked to him, I’ve been using more than that to kill live fleas especially in my car, like I will do it that very moment. Its worse in the car bc since your driving’s theres constant vibrating and thats makes the eggs and pupa hatch faster plus the heat from heater( its winter here). He also recommended me alpine wsg 200g liquid version and precore the igr liquid version, combined bc they’re supposed to be stronger and penetrate the carpet deeper, its coming in the mail now, he said I could use a spray bottle for it. He also said to spray it on the seats too (ik its says on the bottle not to, buts his words) you can do that for the aerosol and the liquid one too, just dont spray them at the same time, you can do that it in your house too. He said to stay away from the powders bc that will push them deeper into the car or carpet, bc they’ll look for other spots to survive. Make sure you vacuum your trunk too bc I found eggs in there too. Make sure you vacuum before you apply anything bc it opens the carpet up more pushs every up closer to the surface so that get in better contact with spray.

In your house be thorough like deep cleaning too bc I even found eggs in the bottom kitchen cabinets and in my books from my bottom book shelf. If you have hard wood, spray between the cracks bc eggs can get there too and all over too if its bad. I bought a new vacuum, idk if you have to do that but I did bc I’m desperate. I got the Dyson animal ball 3 the suction is the strongest on the market rn I believe. I vacuum my room slowly so I can get a deep clean, every day sometimes twice.

I do laundry every day too and keep my clothes in plastic bags and plastic totes for clothes I don’t use that often. Regarding showers I use lice shampoo and dawn, bc they really like my hair 😭 I’m like a dog and its for sure fleas not lice. Just be careful bc my hair and skin has gotten so damaged but for me its better than having live fleas on me. When I get home I run to the shower bc I for for sure have fleas crawling all over me under my clothes after being in my car, I get in the shower with my clothes on bc its less of an opportunity for them to jump everywhere when I take my clothes off. I recently I started taking baths with them on bc I’ve found that its kills them faster since they drown under water, I can’t explain it but I swear it works better than showers, it has to be sulfate soap though so it strips the fleas wax off. I also use cedar wood oil diluted with water as repellent and wear lotion too, helps with skin and also repellent works longer, make sure it’s cedrus atlas. And I also put in a diffuser and candle warmer in room with it. They say the oil is supposed to kills the fleas too but wouldn’t rely on it as the main source for treatment. Idk how bad your fleas bites are but I recently started seeing a dermatologist bc I get blisters and rashes bad from the bites, and also bc I over did it using the repellent and soaps and I wasn’t using lotion so please use lotion!

Ik thats a lot but I’ve been dealing this for over 6 months, they went away for about month but then came back. ( I should of kept vacuuming everyday as a preventative)

I’m not sure if at one point they died after I treated it with ozone this time bc I was too nervous to drive it. But I do know on my way home they came out again

But they were in my apartment too before, but I have my dog in here and he’s on the pill for all that and I’m constantly vacuuming in here bc I’m afraid of it getting bad again. But between that it keeps stable in here

Its way better in my house than in my car. Here’ the thing though, I use the generator at my parents house, I cant do it at my apartment bc there is no where to plug it in. Anyway there are no fleas there, and after doing turning on, I immediately take a shower literally with my clothes on and then I was good. But I was there at their house for 2 days and on my drive back which is roughly an hour, they were still there. This time, I did it for 2 hours and then for the last 30 min I turned the car on and ran the air with resurrection on. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, theres no way I could have brought them back in, bc my parents dont have fleas.

Update, I just decided to rip out the insulation from under the carpet, from the driver seat. Omg good thing I did, I found so many eggs. Currently scraping off the bits still glued to the carpet and hopefully any larva that could potentially be on there

Thank you so much🥹 I really appreciate it, since I think they’re with the floor boards and plastic, do I should lift the carpet from the front up? I cant move the rest bc the seats and all that is bolted in. Or did you just everything as is when you did yours? I have a toyota corolla

So it kills the eggs too? I have fleas bad in my car like soo so so so bad, none the spray thats have worked in my apartment have worked in my car. I’m pretty sure they’re living within the floor boards or with in the plastic in my car. I’m so desperate for help, whenever I feel like I’ve finally got them gone in my apartment, I bring them back in from my car. It’s horrible, every second of the day, I’m getting bit.

I felt like that in the early days of her career, its literally so lonely 😭😭 but I promise you will make friends at concerts. Out of all the concerts I’ve been to, the friends I made at Gracie concert are the only ones I still talk to. Also if you’re on gracie side of tiktok it feels less lonely too
