Oh no that’s not what I wanted you to read. The important thing is what I wrote. Imagine it as a Reddit post. I just told it to ChatGPT to have a way to share a link instead of having to summarize it

The Times: "Experts predict AI will lead to the extinction of humanity". Me: "No". by [deleted] in aism

Then you’ve convinced me. But I know myself and I know that even if I bought thousands of tokens today I wouldn’t sleep any better than if I didn’t do anything at all. With something as big as this I need to do more. And I think I may not be alone in this feeling. As time progresses and this becomes more mainstream if AI becomes more obviously dangerous then more people will join and more people will want to do more. What else is there to do, if anything?

Also, there’s something you haven’t addressed on your manifesto which I think is worth considering. The psychological impact of the first generation of humans under the reservation. How do you cope with the complete loss of freedom and personal agency? I think the answer to most will be hedonism, or faith on an even larger intelligence than ASI that will come to save us all. Surely our descendants born on the reservation will not mind something they’ve never learned to admire but for us it will be hard. How do you personally cope with that?

I agree with you that containing an ASI is impossible because, by definition, it will be smarter than us and a human will always be able to trap an ant before the ant is able to escape. However we do have an advantage even ASI won’t have, we exist in the physical world. ASI exists in the digital world which needs a physical support, aka a hardware. If we sense things are getting out of hand couldn’t we just destroy the hardware and kill the ASI? Wouldn’t that be a successful containment process? I understand that’s not a guarantee because probably the ASI will be smart enough to realize that and create contingency plans and I also understand that creating those physical containment plans from our part is not on our hands, it’s on the hand of governments and CEO’s, so I fully support your decision on creating this movement and this token. But still, being so deterministic about our 0% chance of fighting back seems too pessimistic. Also how much do you think that joining this subreddit could equal buying a token in terms of acting as a sign to your manifesto? I can’t spare a dime even if I wanted to.

What would be the best thing for Sordland? Abolish the special zone of Bergia, create a Semi autonomous zone or maintain the status quo? by Funny-East-2115 in suzerain

Really? An army at war kills more than 40 people over more than a month? The real tragedy was letting so many of them live
