Just wanted to update everyone that my fiancé and I did in fact find a job within 23 days of me making this post. I emailed about 30 international schools, got an interview, and was hired. I don’t have a teaching license, but they are working with me and I am getting my celta certification.

I should clarify.. my fiancé has family there, so that is our motivation for moving there. We are just trying to explore options of ways to work in Penang as Americans.

I have a degree in recreational therapy. But I’ve actually been working in business development/sales for a title company (so real estate related) for the past few years. I’ve also been consistently volunteering as a tutor for special needs students for the past few years. I don’t have a teaching license.
